"Fre$hJay ft Nued Maj – Get It & Go (Official Music Video)"

Rising OKC artists Fre$hJay and Nued Maj drop a visual to their latest hit “Get It and Go”. The ‘hustler motivated’ song has already caught a lot of buzz in the southern region and even celebrity dancer She Loves Meechie and his partner Yvng Quan joined the wave and made a personal video along to the song. The track is off of their latest joint project “Started EP” available on Spinrilla and Soundcloud. - Shawn Cotton

"Fre$hjay and Nued Maj get things Started with new EP"

A local duo is using its new EP to get Oklahoma’s hip-hop buzz started. Rappers Fre$hJay and Nued Maj are two of the state’s youngest up-and-coming musicians.

The elder of the two, 21-year-old Fre$hJay, was born Josh Tennial in Sherman, Texas. His family later moved to Edmond, where he graduated from Edmond Santa Fe High School. There, he discovered his interest in pursuing a music career. He tried his hand at rapping and began experimenting with audio engineering software so he could make his own beats as well as mix and master his music.

Maj, born Levar Swindall II of Jersey City, New Jersey, is still working toward a diploma at age 17. Maj’s family moved to the southwest side of Oklahoma City and enrolled him at Westmoore High School. Much like Fre$hJay, he began experimenting with music at an early age. As a freshman in high school, he began pulling instrumental beats from YouTube to use with his lyrics.

After meeting through a mutual friend, the two began collaborating. Initially creating material together for two separate solo projects, the duo later decided to combine the work and release it as an EP, Started.

“We needed something for the summer,” Fre$hJay said. “We weren’t rushed. We were just having fun with it like we did when we first started making music.”

The project was heavily produced by another young Oklahoman. HiVolumeBeats, born Dale Jefferson, of Edmond said he began working with audio software during his freshman year of high school after experimenting with a T-Pain phone app that altered users’ voices through Auto-Tune.

HiVolumeBeats has worked with Fre$hJay for a few years and helped run the home studio Started was recorded in. He has worked with and helped provide studio space for other local artists, too.

“A lot of people are competing, not being a group,” Fre$hJay said. “They’re not pulling in other artists and helping.”

Maj and Fre$hJay said coming out of Oklahoma City can sometimes be difficult because of what seems to be a lack of support from people locally.

“We’re not Atlanta. We’re not Los Angeles. We’re not New York. We don’t have an industry here,” Maj said, “It just seems like there isn’t much to work with. Some of it is a lack of support, and some is people just not knowing.”

The musicians said that is something they would like to change. They want to solidify an industry for hip-hop and bring a mainstream buzz to the state.

“We’re in the Midwest,” Maj said. “We don’t have a sound already that we’re trying to incorporate. So we can be the forefront.”

"Fre$hJay – “Legit” Video"

OKC rapper Fre$hJay is exposing the imposters with his new video for his single “Legit”. The video has Fre$hJay walking to a hotel room to meet up with a possible connect, but he ends up walking into a robbery. King Chop Photos puts the mannequin challenge to emphasize details in scenes that tell the story that unfolds. Fre$hJay lyrics help form he verbal story line of the video. As the ending speeds up the formation of the video, the lyrics come to an unsuspecting halt as it appears Fre$hJay becomes the victim of a shooting. As far as his craft goes, he has been putting in additional work to boost his music stock by opening for big time artist like Lil Uzi and Playboi Carti. He is one of the various artist from OKC production company Dxxble O. You can actually catch him opening for OG Maco and Larry June this weekend, then Famous Dex on Dec 3rd. If you are looking for more work from Fre$hJay check out his Started EP out now on spinrilla, and the release of his “W’s” project dropping this winter. Still working on that hot first release.

Fre$hJay is a recording artist, producer and audio engineer based in Oklahoma City. He is part owner of a production company, DXXBLE O, with his good friend/producer Dale Jefferson, HiVolumeBeats.

Joshua “Fre$hJay” Tennial, born March 14, 1995, grew up in a christian family in a small suburban town in Sherman, TX. More interested in basketball, Fre$hJay’s only focus was on becoming a better basketball player until a new job opportunity for his father arose, moving the family to Oklahoma. His basketball dream started to fade and love for music grew once meeting present producer and business partner "HiVolume" in 2010. Fre$h dropped his first project "Winners Club" late summer of 2015 including artists all from Oklahoma. Fre$h then collaborated with Oklahoma artist "Nued Maj" and created a whole buzz in the state with their single "Get It and Go" and their joint project "Started EP". Fre$h is now progressing his production company by working on his artists and furthering himself as an artist. He has opened up for many major artists including Lil Uzi Vert, Waka Flocka, Riff Raff, Dizzy Wright and more.
