Still working on that hot first release.

Myfe is a new Phish tribute band that combines Kevin Winzer (guitar) and Josh Eckhaus (keyboards) of the well-known Los Angeles Phish cover band The Great Divide with SLO locals Justin Hellman (bass) and Lucas Carlton (drums).  Over the last six years Kevin and Josh have performed all over Southern California including sold-out shows at venues like The Mint, Moroccan Lounge and Santa Monica staple the Trip Bar.  They have performed at several music festivals including Hammerstock and two years at the OC Music Festival (main stage in 2018 and full night takeover of the Hilltop Stage in 2021).

Their hopes to bring the music of Phish further north led them to Lucas and Justin, who have been playing together since 1999 when they hit the Berkeley jam band scene with the band Wayside.  Wayside shared the stage with well-known bands Tea Leaf Green, The Motet, and Melvin Seals, and performed with special guests Paul Hansen, Paul McCandless, and Will Bernard.  Their final performance was at the High Sierra Music Festival.

Justin’s musical career led him to multiple performances at the famous Yoshi's jazz club in Oakland and performances with jazz greats Henry Kaiser, Taylor Eigsti, and Dave Ellis.  His albums include the critically acclaimed Shakin' It Like a Blue Funk Monkey which contained the track Bring Out the Hellman (featured on CBS's the good wife) and Suite, a funk/soul release with the band Sugar Shack.  His album of original string quartets, Garden of the Gods, will be released on Albany Records in February of 2023.

Lucas was a member of a weekly jazz funk experience at the Boom Boom Room in San Francisco for several years, where he performed with Bay Area greats such as Mark Karan (RatDog, Phil Lesh and Friends) and Martin Fiero (Jerry Garcia, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Zero).  He has toured with jam band favorites Izabella, Hot Buttered Rum, and Stu Allen and Mars Hotel.

Myfe dives deep into the vast ocean of the Phish catalog, tackling the entire range of Phish’s incredible output, from the most intricate and challenging compositions to the most danceable, groove-able jam vehicles.   Both the guitar/keyboard and the drum/bass duos have years of chemistry from performing in other projects, and the 4 musicians together bring a freshness and excitement to the music that is reminiscent of Phish in their early days.
