Nailah Saleem

Hailing from Baltimore, Maryland, Nailah Saleem was raised with a heavy jazz and soul background while studying classical musical herself. Her jazz and soul influences and her studies in music theory led her to begin composing songs in the neo-soul genre as early as eleven years old. Her classical training was not forgotten, as she can always be found sporting her viola at live events.

Nailah started her career early, premiering four original compositions in her senior year of high school, and then polishing them when she left home to study Music Composition at West Virginia University. After returning home, she started singing around Baltimore open-mics, and went on to raise over $3,000 to release her upcoming EP, #Unlucky, which is set to release in January of 2019. She performs regularly in the Baltimore area, as well as on many campus events at Bowie State University, where she is currently studying Business Marketing full time.
