"Sharks From Mars - Self Titled Release"

"a hot gob of dirty rock that you'll want to smear all over your jeans." NED LANNAMANN - Portland Mercury

"Sharks From Mars @ Slabtown"

By Zack Perry
Aug 05 12:00am

On an unexpectedly gloomy evening at Slabtown, a benefit designed to give water to the homeless was held. Originally, the show was supposed to be a pool party in full swing, featuring a kiddie pool in the middle of the room and floaties and a good time for everybody. Unfortunately though, the weather dictated an evening with no kiddie pool to flop in. The night was still packed with falafels, punk rock, and positive energy.

Sharks From Mars encapsulate rock and roll. The energy oozing out of singer/guitarist Russ London floods out of him as if he had been performing since he was in the crib. Bouncing around the stage and shouting into the microphone, all while shredding his white Telecaster, giving an energy to an equally receptive audience. At one point there was a fight amongst the crowd with the floaties that were originally intended for the pool party. When I was watching the band play, one fact became abundantly clear, rock and roll has a name now, and that name is Sharks From Mars.

Slabtown’s weekly new all ages show, the Church of Rock And Roll, is a booming success. Featuring some of Portland’s best and biggest bands, the Church has brought a new all ages venue to a decaying youth punk scene. The addition of a new all ages setting for punk shows is big, considering the selection of all ages shows are dwindling due to stricter policies involving minors and venues. "Sharks From Mars"

Portland trio Sharks from Mars play burly, stop-for-nothing punk rock—in other words, the kind of tunes that sound perfect blaring out of a small, rotating 45. Fortunately, Sharks from Mars are releasing one of those very things this evening: the "Friday Night" 7-inch includes three of the band's new songs, and if it's anything like their earlier single "Streetwise Cannibal", it will be fast, dumb, and yelly. After tonight's hometown show, Sharks from Mars make a quick trip down the West Coast, spreading their noxious good times far and wide. NED LANNAMANN - Portland Mercury

"Sharks From Mars - S/T"

Sharks From Mars are a rock n' roll party band who've been playing Pork parties for a while now. Singer/guitarist Russ London's slurred yodel yelling is very distinctive and bass player Lucas is a Pork mail order goblin. The band is very loud. With this new record & lineup solidified the band is set to start gobbling up the competition in a feeding frenzy! Dig the cover art by Pork brother Matt Stanger! - Pork Magazine
