"Skyward – Self Titled"

"Skyward accomplishes in eleven songs what much more famous bands struggle to do over the course of two full length albums. 9/10" - Gashouse Radio

"Skyward - Skyward"

"This is a towering lunge towards the heavens and the band’s powers of communication help push their musical and performing talents into even bigger possibilities. The sky is indeed the limit with Skyward and their debut effort." - Indie Music Review

"Skyward – ‘Self Titled’"

"Skyward are reaching for something new on their debut and many of their efforts are resounding successes... [their] efforts are distinguished by a rambunctious attitude refusing to accept outright conventionality. This is truly a band to watch in the future and hear now. 9/10" - Skope

"Skyward aim to find new ground between rock and pop with their debut"

"There’s no question this quintet is packing all the commitment, persistence, and unity they need to get to the next level. Skyward is looking up and so is this debut." - Throw the Dice and Play Nice

"CD REVIEW: Skyward Self-titled Album"

"For the young band Skyward, their creative mission to marry the messy guitar theatrics of alternative rock with the stricter constraints and melodic emphasis in electronic pop produces individualistic magic. While the band may not be on the verge of packing stadiums world wide, no one sounds quite like them." - Vents Magazine

"RVA Shows You Must See This Week: 4/9-4/15"

"...their sound simultaneously evokes the epic post-hardcore of bands like Moving Mountains and The Beautiful Mistake as well as the melodramatic synth-fueled alt-rock of The Killers.” - RVA Mag

"Skyward Announces New EP Drift, Stream “Sing It Back”"

“Skyward’s new EP Drift contains six pounding rock anthems that sound straight out of a summer blockbuster. The songs are large and loud but never overcrowded or overblown.” - Speak Into My Good Eye

"Skyward Go Bigger Than They Ever Have..."

“Every aspect of Drift seems to be geared toward the idea of expansiveness: the scorching guitar riffs, the sparse piano notes, the bellowing drums, the anthemic vocals…they all coalesce into a grandiose sound that gives the listener a feeling of elevation.” - Dominion Collective

Skyward is a big, messy, alternative rock band founded in the big, messy alternative mountains of Harrisonburg, Virginia. Meeting at James Madison University, they all banded together under the idea that loud guitars and crushing drums didn’t have to be mutually exclusive to an electronic, pop sound.

After four years and close to 400 shows all up and down the East Coast including an appearance at Warped Tour 2015 (as well as playing alongside diverse acts ranging from Pierce The Veil to Plain White T’s), Skyward now chooses to call Charlottesville, Virginia home base.

According to RVA Magazine, “…their sound simultaneously evokes the epic post-hardcore of bands like Moving Mountains and The Beautiful Mistake as well as the melodramatic synth-fueled alt-rock of The Killers”, Skyward would not be out of place in large venues in front of massive crowds. And while stand-out tracks such as "Casualty" and "Stand-Ins" reach for the anthemic stars, tracks like "Animal" and "(m)arrow" keep Skyward’s sound pop-focused and immediately accessible. Some of those songs have even achieved placements on shows like "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" and "Stewarts And Hamiltons".

Now armed with their self-titled debut LP, (available everywhere Fall 2016) recorded at Radiant Studios and The Basement outside of Nashville, Tennessee, Skyward expects big things on the horizon.

These 12 tracks have “just the right amount of appeal to attract a large audience, yet just enough slam to get your blood pumping and your fist shaking.” The Equal Underground.

Can loud, riffy, guitar-focused music still be pop? There’s only one way to find out…
