"From Me To You"

You know the old adage that it takes one person to say one bad thing for it to spread to ten people in no time? Well, imagine a world that was the polar opposite? Just think for a minute if every time someone said something negative that the one person that was receiving the message dismissed it and said something positive to ten different people during the course of a day. What kind of world would it be if everyone did that for just one day? I know this will probably never happen because it is not realistic, but it sure is nice to dream.
Tammy Allen would be one of the few on the planet that would embrace such a concept; in fact she is doing her part with the release of a new self-released album titled From Me To You. Tammy has a great voice to get a message out to the masses. The woman knows how to manipulate her vocal chords, so well that she teaches voice lessons. TD Entertainment is another one of her ongoing projects to support indie artists in the Atlanta area. Now she wants to recognize every day people doing good things. As the CD opens with “Everyday People,” it sets the tone for the entire recordings purpose. This was the launching pad for this new initiative. She has shirts on her website stating the fact the there are many people like you and I that do good things every day.
The music and words on this CD are a great package filled with fine musicianship, a thoroughly positive message, and different styles that will appeal to a large cross section of listeners. The tracks range from rock- “I Refuse”, a self-proclamation of her fierce independence and belief in staying positive regardless of people’s negativity. “I Am Free” is a light and airy dose of smooth jazz and a beautiful message for all to apply in their own lives. Towards the end of the song, she gets her voice so high; it is actually reminiscent of the great jazz vocalist Ella Fitzgerald. Speaking of Ella, Tammy also is adept at scatting, which she does on occasion on her recordings. ‘Don’t Let Nobody” is a funky hard driving R & B flavored tune that stretches out the band and the vocalist, the track is on fire with sincere emotion and standout musical abilities on display. These are a few of the highlights from a very consistent album.
Ms. Allen has the pleasure of collaborating with the expert work of people like Leeland Davis (keys), Ron Jackson (bass), Yonrico Scott (drums), Kazuma Sone (guitar), Eric Hudson (bass), and Robert Williams (drums). Her own personal lineup of stars that make her voice shine even more brightly.

All of this eclecticism in regards to musicians and styles is another strong thread that runs throughout this solid recording. This CD delivers on all points, and mainly is exceptionally good music with nothing but positive vibes for everyone within listening distance to absorb.

Tammy Allen fell in love with the Blues of BB King as a teenager. The love affair has expanded over the years to include every style and genre of music. Growing up, Tammy studied piano, guitar, songwriting, dance and vocals. Her dream, even as a small child, was to be a performer.
She has lived the dream her entire life and has perfected her main instrument, her soulful and silky smooth voice.

A music veteran, Tammy toured throughout the Western United States for 10 years before settling in Atlanta. A natural entrepreneur, Ms. Allen opened her own full service-recording studio, Big House Studios in 2004, where she engineers, teaches guitar, voice and songwriting. The business model has evolved to include TD Entertainment in partnership with PR and Marketing expert Terri Harof. This rapidly growing company handles, PR and Marketing, entertainment booking, producing concerts and events and promotions.
Her love of exploring new directions in music has led her to create The Future of Jazz Competition in partnership with Atlantas Office of Cultural Affairs. Now in its fourth year this competition for original jazz had a stage of its own at The Atlanta Jazz Festival.
Tammy is a prolific songwriter; she has released three successful CDs. Her last release Wonderful To Be received International Airplay, great sales and critical acclaim.

Her evolution as a songwriter and skillful vocalist is evident on the newly released From Me To You. Allen and Leeland Davis a young virtuoso pianist with an equal passion for shaking up traditions collaborated and the final product is familiar yet groundbreaking music.
From Me To You touches on elements of Jazz, Gospel, Rock and Funk. Beautiful melodies and powerful commentary on life permeate the subject matter, leaving you deep in thought. Ultimately you are uplifted with eternal optimism.
