Bio
The Blouse Brothers embody all the spirit and colors of a vintage hippy gypsy tapestry. Combining elements of rock, country and blues all wound tightly in a package of acoustic guitars, blazing telecasters, massive percussion, walking bass lines and southern fried vocals. The quartet began as a side project of the hard rocking Virginia based Babylon Shakes, but started to take on a life of its own when the guys had some down time between recording sessions and started hanging around the bohemian downtown of Staunton, VA. The name of the band caught on as a nod to the wild vintage fashion of the grand 1970’s-replete with printed blouses, bell bottom pants and scarves. Currently, singer/guitarist Chris Clark, guitarist Gary Jordan, drummer Jeff Mortimer and bassist Dave Elmore are recording the debut album in Fishersville, VA. These sessions feature original songs entirely composed by the band and truly highlight a creative brotherhood forged in the love admiration for the Stones, the Faces, the Allman Brothers Band, and the pioneering spirit of the golden age of rock. Their live shows are electric rituals of string lights, tapestries and almost gospel-like rave ups.
