Bio
Hailing from the wilds of Alaska and quiet corners of rural New England, Zen & Sarafin is the indie folk duo of Mariko Sarafin and Jacob Day. The two met in the Bay Area in the spring of 2024, finding a shared love of building community through music. Their songs reflect their roots, blending intimate acoustic guitar driven songwriter sensibilities, ambient indie rock soundscapes, intentional lyricism, and intimate storytelling. They’re currently working on their first EP with plans to expand the project’s membership and sound.
