"Oklahoma Woman Named "Songwriter of the Year" 2011"

Becky Wright of Tahlequah, OK, singer/songwriter and orphan and adoption advocate, was named the “Female Songwriter of the Year” at the annual King Country Agape Fest Fan Appreciation Awards recently.

The four-day Christian music festival, in its 11th year, was held just south of Fort Worth, Texas, in Granbury, Texas, bringing artists from across the United States. Wright also was named the 2008 Female Songwriter, and won Duo of the Year in 2006, with Tommy Brandt. She served again this year as a judge for the talent and songwriting competitions, and taught a workshop entitled “Defining Success: Pursuing Passion & Purpose.”

Fifteen of Wright’s songs have been recorded on Christian and country artist projects besides her own albums, and three songs on video/film.

Wright, a former music teacher, is the founder and director of Tahlequah Orphan & Adoption Ministries. The mission is to enlist and provide support for foster and adoptive families, and to “remember the orphan” next door and globally through various means.

Wright is excited to collaborate with Oklahoma’s new foster care recruitment initiative, www.111project.org. She is an Artist Ambassador for Kids Alive International, a non- profit ministry to rescue orphans and at-risk children in 17 countries through child sponsorship, residential homes, schools and medical clinics — www.kidsalive.org. Much of Wright’s music and speaking events focus on orphan advocacy. She is a member of the Christian Alliance for Orphans and a staff missionary of Artists in Christian Testimony International, a non-profit 501 (c)(3) based in Nashville, Tenn. — www.actinternational.org.

Wright is in Nashville continuing her production of “Heart of Adoption” CD project, with renowned producer and songwriter, Robert Jason (Reba McEntire, Oak Ridge Boys, more). Sponsors are needed for this recording project, which will be utilized to find more “forever families” for waiting kids, and to help orphans worldwide.

"Passionate Worship Leader: Becky Wright"

“Becky, I wanted to let you know how much you blessed us and aided our "Christ for Maumelle (AR) Crusade." The weekend went just as we had hoped it would because you were sensitive to our needs. Your music blessed us tremendously and the praise and worship really set the mood. It is my hope that the Lord will continue to open doors for your ministry, and that your music will touch hundreds of thousand's across the world. Please keep doing what you do... we need more realness in music. Again, thanks for what you did for us, and if any pastor or group needs a reference... let them know they can call us anytime.” Dr. Jeffrey D. Beshears, Pastor, First Baptist Church Maumelle, AR [Now Pastor of a new church plant, The Church at Maumelle, AR; Little Rock area]

I have known Becky Wright for over 20 years. I have ministered with her and have been ministered to by her in both Word and song. Not only is Becky extremely talented, she is anointed with a keen since to follow the Holy Spirit. Becky would enhance the spiritual experience of any church as she leads people into the throne of God in praise and worship. Pastor TJ Tipton, Jaybird Independent Assembly, Westville, OK

I have been privileged to be a part of Becky's life for sixteen years. Her openness to the Holy Spirit's leading is truly amazing. I have seen her completely change what she thought she wanted to share as a speaker on the way to a program because of what God laid on her heart. Her insight and her intuitive messages always touch hearts and contain exactly what people in her audience need to hear. As a worship leader, Becky is second to none. God has given her a unique perspective and ability to reach worshipers of all ages and cultures. C. Pace, Cornerstone Fellowship Church, Tahlequah, OK

It is a privilege to recommend Becky Wright, not only as a soloist but as a praise and worship leader. Becky sang and led the worship for our annual fall retreat in 2008. All in attendance were truly blessed as Becky led us into the presence of the Lord… It was obvious that she has a love for the Lord and a deep desire to serve Him through music. Her passion for Christ is obvious… As she worships Him she has a God given ability to lead others to join in that passion. Zana Smith, President, As One Women’s Ministry, Inc., Tahlequah, OK

Becky Wright is a "most requested" artist on KING Country Radio Station… God uses her ministry in mighty ways, including leading a man to Christ at the ‘08 Agape Fest, who told us, “When I heard Becky Wright sing, I knew that God was real.” I have been in services with Becky: The anointing of God falls as a blanket over the hearers as the Holy Spirit ministers through her in worship. Glorya (and the late Bob) Wilson, KNGR Radio/ Agape Fest, Arlington, TX

I have known Becky Wright for over 15 years. She served in many capacities while her husband, Henry (Bro. Hank), was Pastor at Proctor Baptist Church. Becky, under God's direction, led our choir in some of the most memorable Easter Sunrise, Christmas programs, Vacation Bible School music, and regular worship services for six years. She is a true woman of God who knows the power of prayer, and of authentic worship.
Deloris Patterson, First Baptist, Proctor, OK

“Becky Wright is a mighty Woman of God who has a great passion for the hearts and lives of every person she meets. She has had an abundance of lifetime experiences that have put her faith to the test. We have witnessed her love, compassion and desire to be an example and encouragement to those around her.” Michelle Brandt (Evangelist & Women’s Motivational Speaker)

I have known Becky for over 15 years. She is a very Godly woman, and has lead worship at our church and at several of our ladies' retreats. She is not a “performer” when she sings, but instead exudes worship which spreads to all who are present. I highly recommend Becky for any position, whether in ministering to women or children.
Linda Richardson, Administrator, Shiloh Christian School, Tahlequah, OK

When Becky led the worship for the women's retreat I attended, not only did she find the right music for the retreat theme, but she was able to tap into and help establish the mood for the whole weekend. It was truly a blessing to experience her gifts and to have been so uplifted by her music. Melanie Buchleiter

Dear Becky, Thank you so much for speaking and leading worship at our women’s meeting… Your testimony touched a lot of hearts, and the Word you brought from Jeremiah was a “right on time” message for us. He is using you in a mighty way and it was a sweet spirit that we experienced that night. You are such a blessing! I know many lives will be changed forever through your ministry.... Oh, by the way, your CD’s are great! What a beautiful voice you have; you have been gifted with amazing talent. "No Denying- Becky Wright"

On her album No Denying, Becky Wright brings songs that vary as much in lyrical content as they do in style. Becky easily crosses back and forth between country and contemporary, and her songs cover the full range of emotions, from tearjerkers to songs of pure joy and praise. “While It is Day,” shows how important it is that we make sure that God is our first priority as we go through our daily lives. And “Secret Place,” strengthens this point by showing that we can always take shelter in Him when life’s problems keep pressing in on us. “Where the Lamb Will be The Light” has just a touch of the old gospel flavor, which is only appropriate, since this song speaks of that final day of peace which will come when Christ welcomes us into Heaven. All you need to do is buy this album in order to discover that there’s no denying the talent and anointing that can be heard on the songs of Becky Wright. "Blind School Bash a SMASH!"

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for all your hard work in organizing, marketing, and just everything you did for us in trying to make this concert a successful fundraiser for our school. You worked your heart out, and I wanted to make sure you knew that all your efforts were noticed and appreciated.

The concert was absolutely wonderful with such talented performers! For me personally, it was a wonderful show that uplifted my spirit and reminded me once again that God is in control. Your performance, testimony, and love of God was displayed that night both on stage behind the scenes. You showed your generosity and kindness to the Oklahoma School for the Blind’s children.

It was heartwarming to see your true professionalism and showmanship which came through in the quality of your performance. Your dedication to performing even when ill is to be commended. You are a very talented songwriter as well and your songs touched my heart.

The Blind School Bash was better than many other concerts’ I have personally attended. I felt like you gave your heart and soul to the show.

The employee’s who attended have told everyone what a wonderful evening it was and how they were blessed by their attendance. My prayer is that God bless you for your act of compassion and kindness toward children with special needs. This world is a better place because of caring people like you.

Sincerely,

Karen Kizzia, Superintendent
