"Get to know a Colorado band"

On Thursday, August 13th, three-piece Americana outfit Box Car Eddy celebrated the release of their debut album, Good & Gone, at the Larimer Lounge alongside Woodhouse, a Denver band that also performed to promote their new EP that same evening. The trio met in high school in Golden, where the band is currently based, but only started performing together as Box Car Eddy three years ago. Bio

Box Car Eddy started as a trio hailing from Golden, Colorado: Jessica Hein on vocals and acoustic guitar, Chris Jenkins on acoustic guitar, cigar box guitar and banjo, and Keith Goble on drums and harmonica. Jessica, Chris and Keith all started playing music at an early age and started forming punk rock, rock n’ roll and ska bands in their early teens. In fact, all three went to Golden High School and their bands even played shows together, but it wasn’t until later that the crew started playing together.

The three started jamming together in the Summer of 2012 and wrote their first song, Good for Nothin.’ The writing process clicked, the three vibed together, and the material kept coming.

In the summer of 2015, Box Car Eddy released their debut album,'Good & Gone', which features strong female vocals and a dirt-rockin' cigar box guitar. Using a simple approach to achieve a big sound, 'Good & Gone' combines influences from Rock, Blues, Folk, Punk, Jazz and Country. The band celebrated the release of their LP in August 2015 at the Larimer Lounge in Denver, and the fanbase has continued to grow since.

Recently, BCE added a 4th member, Dave Harper, on bass. The band is looking forward to playing out, promoting their album and continuing the creative writing process.
