Bio

Chandra Reese, born in Canada to two adventurous parents and raised by a musical grandma in Cincinnati, learned to love music. Chandra began learning at the tender age of 2 by singing the jingle “Nationwide is on our side” over and over again into her grandmother’s reel to reel tape recorder. At the age of 4 she learned the popular song “Somewhere Over The Rainbow”.

She began singing extemporaneously at the age of 7 and started writing her own songs at age 10. When Chandra turned 12, she sang a song with her friend Toshia. Chandra sang to Toshia’s aunts over the phone and they said, “Girl, you can sang!”. The song she chose was Whitney Houston’s “Greatest Love of All” and she did it in the style of acappella. This event is what made Chandra decide to pursue the music business.

Chandra soon turned 16 and would sing the famous ballad “Love Takes Time” by singing artist Mariah Carey in the style of acappella to anyone that was interested to listen to her voice. One night Chandra forgot the words to the song due to her nervousness and decided from then on to sing her original “With You”. Chandra’s original song “With You” landed her a spot in the local show at The Apollo in Harlem, New York on June 12th, 1996.

In 2003, Chandra was flown by StarSearch to California. During her stay, she felt this is where she needed to be and officially moved to California in 2006.

In 2015 Chandra was invited by World Renowned Musician Cornelious Mims to sing at the Legendary Jazz great Barbara Morrison's "Monday Night Live" "Motown Monday".  Chandra performed "Out on a Limb" by Legendary R&B Singer Teena Marie.  The all African American crowd went wild and gave her a standing ovation and asked for an encore.  An acceptation was made for Chandra since usually no one is ever allowed to do more than 1 song.   Chandra did not know that the Motown R&B group Switch was in the audience.  They quickly asked if Chandra would open their show at the Newfornia Event Center.  Chandra Opened the show for Switch that night who were also joined by the legendary "Pointer Sisters"
