Bio

Country music singer/songwriter David Lynn Michaels was born in Spartanburg, S.C, home of the Marshall Tucker Band. David started out playing in the local clubs at an early age, sometimes sharing the stage with an up-and-coming star, Aaron Tippin.
David is no stranger to the gospel music scene, traveling with such names at the McKarneys.  During these years he was also a session guitarist for several groups.
Growing up in the country, there was no entertainment to be had for a young boy except to listen to the radio, sing and fish.  Listening to his worn out radio, David grew to love and be influenced by the music of George Jones, Charlie Pride and Merle Haggard, as you can hear in his music.
Loving to sing and play guitar, David got a lot of help from his friends.  One of those friends, Ernest Green, the bass player of the "Shotglass Band" would let David play with them on the bar circuit, honing his skill as a singer and guitarist.  Soon after, David's mentor and closest friend, Ernest, died tragically in a swimming accident.  Another friend, a member of the "Swiftwater Band" helped the grieving David by inviting him to play in their practice sessions and taking him on the road to the bars and fundraisers that they were well known for.
In 2004, David's song, "Truckers Prayer", came out and earned a solid gold airplay award.  The song was written for all of those truck drivers he met while on the road as a tractor trailer driver.  2005 followed up with another award, this time with the release of "8 x 10".
Since then, David has been performing at bars, festivals and events throughout the Southeast.  Just like George, Charlie and Merle, David pours out his heart and soul in every song he sings, whether it's a cover or original. Be on the look out for David's new single in spring of 2020.
