""Over & Out Concert Event""

Ever wish you could hear yourself scream with exhilaration in the background of your favorite musician's live concert CD? Often we're not privy to when and where these recordings take place, but come Saturday, you can make your roar heard on local gospel singer DeAndre Cole's upcoming live recording project at Willamette High School. DeAndre's music is comprised of "joyous get up and clap spirituals" and "soulful Teddy Pendergrass-like ballads" which mine the American black gospel zeitgeist. Area rappers and singer-songwriters Jennifer Scurlock, Nik Fury, C-Major and Incyte will join DeAndre' onstage in a concert event not to be missed this Thanksgiving weekend. - Eugene Weekly

"Good for those who like to listen to fearless lyrics and mostly mellow beatz."

"Going Over" is a well made CD that quickly establishes a pleasent rhythm you can bob your head to. The music is generally down-tempo and easy to follow, and it was easy to get into the Spirit of it. Good for those who like to listen to fearless lyrics and mostly mellow beatz with a bit of soul.

"It's about time..."

That's what everyone has been saying about this long-anticipated debut album. Refreshingly original and reverently worshipful, "Going Over" is a brilliant showcase of both DeAndre's mindblowing musical gifting and his God-adoring heart. Unlike many modern-day Christian artists, however, you don't have to be a Christian to enjoy this album. DeAndre's one-in-a-million voice and the high quality of his music are reason enough to buy it.

Bio

DeAndre is a sublime talent who combines a melting pot of influences to create an astounding and unique sound. He fuses his classical upbringing, modern pop, gospel, blues, jazz and rap into a style he describes as 'Healnotic' (Heal-Feel Music).

This diversity was showcased on Going Over, a collection of 12 songs perfectly reflecting this musical attitude, and exhibiting his commanding vocal prowess. Going Over is full of catchy hooks, rap, memorable vocals and clever use of instrumentation. The CD was co-produced by Marcel Shaal, who worked with Michael Jackson on Thriller.

The biggest influence on DeAndre's music, and indeed his whole life, must be his faith. He surrendered his life to Jesus Christ in 1993 and shortly afterwards found the creativity that has led to his current success. During his time as a worship pastor at his local church, the development of 'Healnotic' took place.

He says: "I call my music 'Healnotic' for 'Heal Feel' music. It is fashioned to bring healing to the spirit with words that give life to the dignity of our being. It is healing to our soul because it engages the mind, will and emotion to experience art-ministry in a new and living way, and provocation to the body that involves its use as an instrument."

DeAndre was born in Sandusky, Ohio and has been involved with music since he was 10. He started songwriting in 1984 and developed over the next ten years both musically and vocally, until Jesus entered his life. In 1994 DeAndre started to take his art more seriously.

He had soon taught himself guitar, piano and drums. The following years he became involved in ministry as a youth pastor and worship leader up until 1998. In November of that year he moved his family to Oregon from California to take up full-time ministry.

This was the beginning of a busy time for DeAndre; with him working with the gospel music department at the University of Oregon with Cedric Weary, at various conferences; one of which that featured the renowned gospel group, Virtue.

He also collaborated with local musician Mat Kearney (Top Single: Nothing Left to Lose), the two recording a single that remains unreleased; co-produced by Nashville-based producer Robert RLM Marvin. In 2005 he started his own label, Triumph Records, and released "Going Over" and "Over & Out Live" a remarkable accomplishment.

Backed up by a magnificent band including his wife Dawn Cole on vocals, Over and Out Live promises to truly communicate DeAndre's musical vision, and offers a wonderful experience of his live presentation.
