"Your Daily Lick: Diablo's Dust When Time Stops (self-released) 2009"

One thing this Walnut Creek husband-and-wife duo team doesn't lack is enterprise. Thom and Sarah Kilts have released three full-length albums in three years, each featuring a medley of styles approximating a Celtic folk/indie-rock hybrid. Funk basslines, looped riffs, and Thoms best Eddie Vedder impersonation, among other experiments, pepper When Time Stops with unpredictable moments. ~Nate Seltenrich - East Bay Express

"Your Daily Lick: Diablo's Dust Somewhere Between the Beginning and the End (self-released) 2008"

Husband-and-wife duo Thom and Sarah Kilts present a jumble of folk, bluegrass, and swampy blues-rock à la White Stripes. Not everything works, and there's room for improvement in the vocals and mixing, but moments of clarity arise. At the very least, they're having fun. - East Bay Express

"SF BAY AREA TWANG BAND BOOM KEEPS BOOMING"

Diablo's Dust, a duo featuring Tom and Sarah Kilts, has evolved from the lo-fi indy folk world to the lo-fi indy twang world. True, not everyone would call this progress, but Hicks with Sticks does. Tom Kilts is a multi-instrumentalist who plays guitar, banjo and mandolin, and, since his feet needed to be kept busy, two percussion instruments as well. He also writes the songs and sings. All that's left for him to do now is to rock on his chair a little to get it to squeak to the rhythm...Thanks to multi-instrumentalism and strong song writing, Devil's Dust avoids the problem that traps a lot of duos: namely sounding the same song after song." ~ Jose Segue, Hicks With Sticks (8/21/07) - Hicks With Sticks Newsletter

Bio

Diablo's Dust is the damned-spicy and devilishly eclectic Indie Rock duo made up of husband/wife Thom and Sarah Kilts. Diablo's Dust has been likened to the White Stripes, Wilco, and Interpol. Originally formed in the San Francisco Bay area, the duo have recently relocated to the Greater Toronto Area.

In live performances, multi-instrumentalist Thom Kilts takes turns playing various guitars and banjo, while keeping time with one foot kicking a bass drum and the other pedal-kicking a block and tambourine (yes, one man can do all that at once -- and it makes for a finger-pickin, foot-stompin' good time!) Sarah plays bass, and both lend their powerful soulful vocals to an impressive repertoire of high-test original music.

Diablo's Dust self-produced and independently released their first album in 2007 and have since released 5 more full length albums of original work that can be purchased from CD Baby, iTunes and many other digital services.

In spite of spending much of their time creating in the studio and keeping a low public profile, Diablo's Dust has been recognized by the following mainstream and independent media outlets:

- "Women's Health" the glossy national magazine, profiled Thom and Sarah's unique husband/wife/band/duo relationship in its September 2007 issue.

- "The Big Ugly Review" which showcases "the best emerging and established talent in writing, photography, music and film" selected the song, "Eye For An Eye" (Living In Nowhere) as a best song of the year in their e-zine. The haunting ode was written by Thom as a response to the death penalty execution of reformed gang member Stanley "Tookie" Williams in 2006.

- "Hicks With Sticks" ezine editor Jose Segue wrote of the band: "All that's left for [Thom Kilts] to do now is to rock on his chair a little to get it to squeak to the rhythm...Thanks to multi-instrumentalism and strong song writing, Diablo's Dust avoids the problem that traps a lot of duos: namely sounding the same song after song."

- Jawboneradio has featured a number of Diablo's Dust songs in their popular "Monster-By-Mail" Zombie series.

- Artfuture, which "tracks cutting edge creativity from around the globe," has recorded two videos of the duo's live performances for its YouTube channel.

Currently, Diablo's Dust gigs exclusively in the Greater Toronto Area, playing in clubs, pubs and private House Concerts/Parties. For more information, including up-to-date show listings, visit their website: www.DiablosDust.com
