"UNXIGNED Highlights: Edi Callier"

"This beautiful artist speaks music as his first language. That’s a fact everybody can all agree on. Dear God, thank you for Edi Callier!"

"The moment Callier voices his first note and begins hitting those goosebumps-rousing falsettos, listeners can only find themselves becoming part of the magic."

"When Edi Callier made his TV debut on The Four‘s first season in January 2018, his life dramatically changed. Although the young singer and multi-instrumentalist from Covington, Georgia, came up short of getting a seat, his natural charm and sublime rendition of Nick Jonas’ “Jealous” nevertheless earned him the world."

"A born performer and a peace-loving artist, Edi simply has what it takes to bring first-class entertainment and touch people’s lives at the same time."

"Look just how energetic this talented indie soul singer-songwriter is and how much people enjoy his overall stage presence. His ability to connect with his audience and make them engage like so is unquestionable." - UNXIGNED

"Canvas Rebel Interview"

“…no more half-steps, no more ‘almosts’.” “…I’m spending every day that I have left working towards achieving my goals, manifesting my vision, and doing what I love.”

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

I want to help people around the world through my art. Music is a universal language and is one of the easiest ways to get to a person’s inner being. I believe that as artists, we have a responsibility to reach those people that need what we have, be it for healing, confirmation, or any other reason. I’ve spoken with people over the years that have gone through hardships in life unlike anything I’ve ever experienced yet somehow, they’ve told me that the music I’ve created has helped them through it. Moments like that have become what I do this for more than anything else. - Canvas Rebel

"IDJ Magazine Interview"

Isaac: How do you put words to paper? What’s your creative process like?

Edi: I let my heart speak. There’s this constant flow of music, words, and emotions coming from the inside of me so putting it down on paper and wax is like pouring through a bottle top from the source of an ever-flowing river. Creatively, I usually start with what’s moving me most at the time whether it’s a melody, a sequence of chords, lyrics, or even just a concept that I’d like to express. I think one of the things that I’ve been greatly blessed with is the ability to create just about anything that comes to my mind, so I don’t have to wait to let out an idea.

Isaac: When it comes to performing, what’s your style?

Edi: My goal each time I touch a stage is to provide an experience that will stay with people for the rest of their lives. It’s definitely an amalgamation of the rock and roll legends, pop icons, and the soul-moving singers that I grew up seeing in church all flipped to fit my own personality and alter ego. - IDJ Online Magazine

"DIYT Interview"

What time did you feel most connected with the world and human beings?

At one of the most recent festivals I did, there was a moment when I felt a really intense connection with the crowd. There was an energy that was there and I was telling my story of the continuous fight to beat depression and I could feel the words being latched on to as I was speaking them. - DIYT

"The Road To Nashville Announces Winner At The Legendary Exit/In"

Bio

Born August 10th in Portland, Oregon, American Idol (Season 22) contestant Edi Callier is an award-winning recording artist, singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and mental health advocate. His music can best be described as an eclectic blend of soul, funk, rock, pop, R&B, and jazz with some international flare - sort of like if Prince, The Weeknd, Bruno Mars, George Duke, Danny Elfman, and Miguel had a baby in church and it listened to exclusively Indian, Latin, and African music for a year.

Inspired by the music of Prince, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, EWF, Aerosmith, Nirvana, John Williams, Danny Elfman, and his roots playing and singing alongside his father in the church at a young age, his journey led him to the city of Atlanta where he rapidly made a name for himself and built a following through his genre-bending brand of music, commanding stage presence, extraordinary musicianship, and his distinguishably smooth yet passionate vocal performance.

His diligence captured the eyes and ears of artists and talent buyers across the nation as he’s been seen as an opener for artists such as Grammy® Award-winning artists Tank (SAVAGE Tour) and Cocoa Sarai as well as Gary “Lil G” Jenkins of Silk, as a headliner for festivals such as the Collard Greens Music Festival, Sweet Auburn Music Festival, Taste of Soul Music Festival Atlanta, Juneteenth Atlanta Music Festival, as a performer for Centennial Olympic Park’s Prince Tribute with Lil' John Roberts (Janet Jackson) and Tres Gilbert (Bobby Brown), at the historic Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York, at The Viper Room on the Sunset Strip, The NAMM Show, Sofar Sounds, California Worldfest, a contestant on the first season of the FOX Television show 'The Four: Battle for Stardom’, and a winning songwriter among over 22,000 entries in the 2022 Liverpool International Song Contest held in Nashville, TN.

In 2020, he began chipping away at the recorded side of his musical artistry leading to the completion of his first full body of work and long-awaited debut album, 'LOVE: the eXperience, Vol. 1’, featuring songs detailing the vulnerability of life experiences and the importance of mental health while showcasing his unique production style, songwriting, and melodic approach.

In the fall of the same year, he said goodbye to Atlanta and packed his bags for a move to Los Angeles, California where he proceeded to further chip away at artistic endeavors and in 2022, he released his next body of work, ‘Edi Callier: eXperience Unplugged’, an explorative acoustic EP of records initially featured on his debut album followed by the summer release of his second album, ‘LOVE: noir’, a soulful project that dives into various facets of romantic love.
