"MUSICAL DISCOVERIES FROM THE UNDER WORLD"

To listen with the light off and tears activated. Solemn Island is the last song from Elective Theatre, a song that emerges through the void and sounds soft to those who seek it. It's like a musical caress that touches those who need more sensitivity. It is straight and quite soft, without much internal madness, with the tone accommodated in the lightness of a voice to the Nirvana wave.

(Original Spanish Text)

- INDIE CRIOLLO

"Artist Profile: Elective Theatre"

Elective Theatre is an American alternative group that represents deep human topics through a mellow style. I will focus today on two of their singles 'Solemn Island' and 'False Start.'

The mood of 'Solemn Island' is taking you on a gentle journey through an emotive vocal with an interesting theme about facing the world alone "A song about facing the world on your own. Not turning back at the smallest sign of trouble or hardship. At the same time questioning your abilities and motives. No matter what you choose, you're likely to simultaneously face a win as well as a loss." - the band explained.

I love the beats here more in 'False Start' and the music tightness, and I really like the singer's ability to change different vocal styles to deliver the idea of the track. Did you evaluate yourself after a relationship and through different methods to make things work? This track is mainly about "Dwelling on the things you could have done differently, but realizing there is no road back to where you once were with each other. Accepting the state of denial as a necessary step to move forward with life." - Elective Theatre explained. - Rock Era Magazine

"Elective Theatre-False Start"

Crazy rock lovers with a very post twist, Radiohead fans and more will surely say “Ok Elective Theater is something, but what does it get us?”, I will say nothing. Rock music is sometimes sufficient in itself, it translates an emotion, a feeling of being connected to ourselves and to the universe.

It does not say much about this group, which takes care of its visuals and its productions. False Start strangely reminded us of those bands that illustrated sequences from the How I Met Your Mother series. Such as Simple Song by The Shins, This Modern Love by Bloc Party or Nice Dream by Radiohead .

In short, we had a good time discovering this project!

(Original French Text)

How I Met Your Mother. Tels que Simple Song par The Shins, This Modern Love par Bloc Party ou encore Nice Dream de Radiohead.

Bref nous avons passé un bon moment à découvrir ce projet! - Direct Actu

"ELECTIVE THEATRE SERVED BITTER-SWEET FUZZED-UP SOUL IN THEIR LATEST INDIE GRUNGE SINGLE, ‘FALSE START’"

It seems hyperbolic to state that Elective Theatre’s latest single, False Start, contains the same level of bitter-sweet soul in Radiohead’s Fake Plastic Trees while sounding completely authentic, but that is exactly what they achieved with this cuttingly melancholic seminal single.

The spiralling, shoegazey guitars reel you further into the pensive heart of the single with every psych-tinged fuzzed-up note. Art rock, grunge, shoegaze, 90s Britpop and indie fans alike should be internationally scrambling to make Elective Theatre a staple on their playlists.

False Start is easily one of the most masterful singles we’ve heard this year. We can’t wait to hear more from the indie rock outfit.
