1- Great to have you on our blog. Please, introduce yourself? My name is Lie*lac, I am a self made/taught singer, songwriter, writer, graphic artist, and editor :) 2- What got you into music and made you realize that it was your chosen path? I've been into music as long as I can remember. I've never not been singing. It was never even a question this was the path for me, music was and still the only thing that's ever calmed my chaos. It's the reason I'm still alive. I just hope I can make music that helps people the way it's helped me. 3- Tell us about your new EP. And what’s the story behind it? The story behind my EP is truly just to understand when to walk away from things that don't serve you. Relationships, friendships, whatever it is. Trust your gut when something doesn't feel right, because it's better to hurt in the moment but be better off later than prolong being in a bad situation. 4- What makes your music unique? How would you describe it? My music is unique not only because every song is a different genre, but because I write what I know, that's my soul on track and every single thing I've experienced, (good and bad), as a human being trying their best as we all are. I would describe it as vulnerable. 5- What advice would you give to aspiring musicians? That's a tough one, I tend to feel extremely lost myself. This industry has a way of making you feel VERY unimportant as well. My advice would be advice I haven't really even figured out how to take myself-just do it because it makes you happy. Forget the numbers, the analytics, the views. That's where I'm stuck right now. All that. And it really does affect how I create now because I can't get past being "marketable." Don't get lost in that. Do it because you enjoy it. Even if you only have a handful of people listening, those are people you've inspired and had a positive affect on. That's what's matters. 6- Who are your biggest musical influences? And any particular artist/band you would like to collaborate with in the future? My biggest influences are honestly all over the place! I grew up on Queen/the Beatles, spent my high school years listening to Ariana Grande, Kendrick Lamar, and Paramore, and Melanie Martinez. Now my main inspos are Ariana Grande, Kendrick, Dua Lipa, and Doja Cat. It would be absolutely insane to collab with any of them. 7- If you had one message to give to your fans, what would it be? Thank you for sticking by me. I know I'm not always the most consistent, and I get overwhelmed easily. Thank you for giving me the grace to not lose interest when mentally I just can't get things to come to fruition. It's insanely hard to do it all on your own, in addition to a full time job, and sorting through all the BS false promises people in this industry feed you. In the moments when I get discouraged and feel like no one would notice if I disappeared....you do. And there are no words for the way the care you show makes me feel... 8- What’s next for you? Any upcoming projects? I think a better question is what isn't next? I came to take over, and I intend to. I have a single releasing early next year, I'm writing a book, working on a movie/multiple acting projects, starting a resin/art business. I'm here to do it all because the only thing I don't do is sleep lol. - Billboard
