Bio

If there’s anything James Taylor, Jr., brings to the stage, it’s passion.

Voted Flame Magazine’s Best of 2012: Best Live Singer!

James has been writing poems, lyrics, and songs since the tender age of 6. However, his joy of singing far exceeds that of writing. Bringing lyrics to life is what this vocal prodigy loves best. His first album, “Unknown”, can currently be found on Amazon, iTunes, CDBaby and other online retailers. He's currently busy working on his second solo album.

James has performed (formerly) with (the)fundamentalists at the Great Lakes Regional Rodeo, Motor City Pride, Tri-City Pride, Cleveland Pride, Dayton Pride, and King's Island Pride Night as well as for the Ferndale Public Library and “Under The Poppy” by Kathe Koja at Blumz (Ferndale), for Music for Martha at Malickey’s Pub (Bay City), and Together We Can (Ann Arbor’s Got Talent and the TWC Conference).

James has performed solo at Tri-City Pride, OutFest, /aut/Bar, Rainbow Room, Gigi's, Adam’s Apple, Stiletto's, RipCord (Toledo), Malickey’s Pub (Bay City), and Maductive (Reunion Nightclub).  James has also performed at the Wayne County Fair, Belleville Strawberry Fest (where he won the adult division Strawberry Idol), the Michigan State Fair, again at the Wayne County Fairgrounds for the Belleville Relay for Life, and TOP 10 for the Art Van Cruisin' Idol on WXYZ, ABC Channel 7 (Detroit).  James can frequently be found in the Detroit area at many functions for the Performer’s Awards of Detroit and the Michigan International Gay Rodeo Association.

Besides being an accomplished singer and performer, James was featured in the film “Magic Mentah“, filmed in 2006, currently awaiting release. He also worked on "Love Conquers All" (Under The Poppy), "An Alchemy of Desire" (Under The Poppy), "Legally Blonde" (DAG), "Drop Dead" (DAG), and "Much Ado About Nothing" (Big Girl Productions).

James is accepting bookings for 2016.
