"Jason Heeter Takes a Funky Turn with ‘Come This Way'"

In his latest single, “Come This Way,” songwriter Jason Heeter boldly embarks on a new musical trajectory, seamlessly blending Rock and Funk to create a soulful and stylish composition. This track serves as a precursor to his upcoming album, “Heet & the AC’s,” marking Heeter’s first collaboration with his live band. “Come This Way” is a sonic exploration that not only showcases Heeter’s versatility but also introduces a timeless groove that is both funky and soulful.

The journey begins with the infectious strumming of a funk guitar, setting the tone for what unfolds as a full-band experience. As the rhythm section kicks in, complemented by funky keys, the arrangement takes on a dynamic quality that captures attention from the outset. The instrumental ensemble works cohesively to establish a groove that is not only contemporary but possesses an unmistakable retro flair.

Heeter’s vocal prowess takes center stage, delivering a performance that is not only powerful but also soulful. His voice becomes an integral part of the musical narrative, adding depth and emotion to the lyrics. “Come This Way” lyrically explores the internal voices that guide us through life, sometimes leading us down positive paths and, at other times, pulling us in less favorable directions. The theme is relatable, and Heeter’s expressive delivery ensures that the message resonates with listeners.

The undeniable groove and driving rhythm of “Come This Way” contribute to its overall appeal. The slick guitar work adds a layer of sophistication, enhancing the track’s sonic texture. The fusion of rock elements with funky undertones creates a musical environment that feels both familiar and fresh.

As the first single from the upcoming album, “Come This Way” provides a glimpse into Heeter’s evolving musical landscape. The addition of a live band, “Heet & the AC’s,” signifies a new chapter in Heeter’s artistic journey, promising a blend of authenticity and energy in his future releases. - Wax Vinyl Records

"Jason Heeter – ‘Staring at the Sun’ EP"

A short and simple EP from Missouri-based singer/songwriter Jason Heeter, Staring at the Sun shows us how to take our time and sit in the sun, taking it all in for one moment. With no frills and no fuss in its Americana and country intertwining, the EP is an easy-listening piece with a sprinkling of harmonica and scatters of bluesy-outdoorsy riffs you can melt into on your porch, as the sun sets into an orange evening.

Staring at the Sun gives us a break from all that is complex by giving us just enough water to float without sinking and just enough flames to keep us warm without burning.

Opening track “Lazy Day” is a smooth and wholesome reminder of how to enjoy the moment, while the finale “I Know You Rider” is a sweet and breezy track reflecting on lost moments. Every track shows us how to be deeply present whilst displaying a personal yet lighthearted approach for all its listeners.

Picture yourself on a warm and breezy day, driving up the freeway with someone you love, whilst everything passes you by. Staring at the Sun plays quietly in the background; this is the sound where you can feel a warm and welcoming sense of togetherness, with not only the ones you love, but also with yourself. - Obscure Sound

Bio

“A diverse and dynamic talent, Jason Heeter offers up a powerful bluesy rock sound that’s complemented by a voice with equal strength and bravado. Sometimes it's funky, sometimes it's folky, but it is always grooving! A true son of the Midwest, Heeter began singing in church at the age of 6, and never lost the love for performing. While studying music in college, Heeter cut his teeth both on and off campus as a singer and multi-instrumentalist establishing himself as a staple on the regional circuit.

With a slew of tasty singles, an EP, and a full-length album under his belt, Heeter is showing no sign of stopping.  Another full-length album is in the works with the live band, Heet & the AC's, featuring all new original music.

With extensive experience, and influences ranging from Tedeschi Trucks Band, to Jason Isbell; from Bill Withers, to the Grateful Dead, the stylistic variety of his catalog further confirms his natural talent. You may find him at a solo performance, or featured in a number of acts, including Heet & the A.C.’s, Deuce Denninger Band, Ivas John Band, and Shades of Soul, but one thing is for certain. With Heeter on stage, its gonna be a good time!
