"[ARTIST] JAY GATZ – ACCOUNTABILITY"

"Wanting to make a difference and create music that his audience could feel no matter the topic, Gatz returned back to the drawing board and delivers to us his sophomore album, The Real Jay Gatz. A socially conscious album where Gatz bares all, the 25-year-old lets us into his journey of starting over, being accountable for the decision he’s made and continues to make, being a boss, and much more." - OG HOODRICH

"Jay Gatz- “Fresh Slate”"

“It’s never too late to share gems we find from Boston artists and Jay Gatz’s “Fresh Slate” falls right under that category. Gatz describes a woman who has played games with different men for a long time but is in search for a fresh start and the chance for a more fulfilling relationship. The storytelling on “Fresh Slate” comes across as sincerely heartfelt and is effectively delivered over the solemn, key-based production courtesy of Nikas. So while Jay Gatz is likely a new name to you, “Fresh Slate” is a record that shouldn’t be slept on and we’ll continue to check for new music from Gatz in the future.
Listen to “Fresh Slate” below as well as Jay Gatz’s most recent effort “Everyday” featuring J. Rose.”

"Jay Gatz – The Real Jay Gatz @therealjaygatz"

“Since the release of Bodega Dreams back in 2013, Jay Gatz has spent the past couple of years honing his craft. Performing at numerous shows and hitting the studio day and night, the Boston native wanted to find his own sound, opposed to sounding like every other artist on the radio and succumbing to the trends of ‘emo’ and ‘mumble’ rap. Unsatisfied with his last release, Gatz wanted to make sure that his next project would be his best one.

Wanting to make a difference and create music that his audience could feel no matter the topic, Gatz returned back to the drawing board and delivers to us his sophomore album, “The Real Jay Gatz”. A socially conscious album where Gatz bares all, the 25-year-old lets us into his journey of starting over, being accountable for the decision he’s made and continues to make, being a boss, and much more.

Coming in with 17 tracks, “The Real Jay Gatz” features contributions from Kyle Bent, Arian Sledge, Love 2x and Jaz D. Ramos. Listen to the project below.” - Blitz

"New Video: Jay Gatz (@Therealjaygatz) – Side Peace"

“At the top of the summer, Boston rapper Jay Gatz dropped his singles “Watchu Need” and “Pink Prayer.” After taking a month off, the 24-year old returns with a brand new visual for his latest offering, “Side Peace.” With production handled by Ayydot, the record takes a journey from the point of view of the side dude to the woman’s significant other that is locked up.

Watch the visual shot by Matt Arnold above.”

“After releasing the BraveStarr-produced track “Run It Up” last month, Jay Gatz returns with a new single off his upcoming project, Bodega Dreams 2: The Caution Tape. Produced by GMoneyy, Jay Gatz has everything you need from dope to the baddest of women.”

"Learn more about Jay Gatz"

Jay Gatz is an Hip-Hop artist and Entrepreneur. Originally from the streets of Boston, Massachusetts, Jay Gatz experienced different struggles in life that motivated him to always to strive for the best. Growing up, Jordan was always acknowledged by Jay Gatz, which is a name given to him metaphorically referring to the book, The Great Gatsby. He began rapping and producing mixtapes at the age of seven, and carried the name every since.

Music was something he was always passionate about, but it was the MySpace-era that made him take his craft and approach serious. He still seemed to struggle to find his sound and pocket. After the release of his last project in 2013, Bodega Dreams didn’t get received well, he was forced to take the time to rebrand and go back to the drawing board. This time instead of trying to fit in with the style and trends of today’s hiphop, he began taking the approach towards being the listeners escape from the average wordsmith. He wanted to deliver a project where regardless of topic, you can hear and FEEL the concept as well.

Gatz recently released a new project, The Real Jay Gatz LP. He also was featured on a 5-city tour for the first time ever during the Fall of 2017, and was featured on a second ArtistsToWatchTour during the late winter of 2017-early ’18. He is also set to release a follow-up project in 2019.

Bio

Jay Gatz is a multi-faceted Boston born artist, hip hop lyricist and Entrepreneur. He began rapping and producing mixtapes at the age of seven, and it was at the age of 11 when he recorded his first mixtape on a karaoke machine and the name was given to him metaphorically referring to the book, The Great Gatsby.

Music was something he was always passionate about, but it was the MySpace-era that made him take his craft and approach serious. He still seemed to struggle to find his sound and pocket. After the release of his 2013 project, Bodega Dreams didn’t get received well, he was forced to take the time to rebrand and go back to the drawing board. This time instead of trying to fit in with the style and trends of today’s hiphop, he began taking the approach towards being the listeners escape from the average wordsmith. He wanted to deliver a project where regardless of topic, you can hear and FEEL the concept as well.

Gatz went on to release his second project, The Real Jay Gatz LP, on all DSP's October 8, 2018. Leading up to the projects release, he was featured on a 5-city tour during the Fall of 2017, and was featured on a second ArtistsToWatchTour during the late winter of 2017-early '18.

On August 14th 2019, Gatz released his mouth-watering project, Good Food on all digital streaming platforms as well, and has been working the upbeat, afro-pop theme, Ana Conda as his lead single. In October, he performed at the A3C Conference and Festival in Atlanta, GA. He has been featured in publications such as Thisis50, MiixtapeChiick, Based Boston, Boston Hassle, HustleandGrynd & More.

Gatz is looking to follow-up with the second installment, Good Food: Plate 2 on his birthday, February 20th, 2020.
