Bio

22 year old Virginia resident J. Mood is a hip hop artist people need to be on the lookout for. Freestyling and writing since the young age of 12 music has been a major part of his life. However, he put the mic down sometime in high school to focus on a promising football career. He rediscovered his passion for music as a sophomore in college and began making beats under the moniker J. Mood. J. Mood's roommate at the time Cornell Wade started a label that J. Mood committed to IMASTA Ent (I Must Always Strive to Achieve). During this time J. Mood released a joined mixtape IMASTA ENT Presents, The Appetizer and two solo mixtapes The Offseason parts 1 and 2; as well as created several trends on and off campus, he did end up parting ways with the label shortly after he graduated college.

Now J. Mood is on to bigger and better things. Using his catch phrases “We Workin'”, “#JMOODMONDAY”, and “High Flyers”; J. Mood created several trends that became popular in his community and amongst his fans. “High Flyers” eventually became J. Mood's own brand which he makes music under as well as hosts parties and events that brings a positive atmosphere to his NOVA community. Being influenced by legendary names like Jay Z, Nas, Tupac, T.I., Fabolous, and Ludacris as well as modern rappers J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Drake and Wale; J. Mood hopes to join this list of names as one of the best in the game. He already has 20,000 views on his latest video “One Mic” a remake of the Nas classic. He has also opened up for Diggy Simmons at Massaponex High School in VA. His latest EP “Feel the Mood” is set to release at the end of this year and he is telling his story. Working with producers like J Staffz, Tone P, and YS on the track, J. Mood is setting the stage for a classic album. He wants you to feel his journey, not just ride along.
