Bio

Johnny and the Moles are an American band based out of Seattle, WA. Born out of the ashes of internationally acclaimed jazz act, 'Reptet', they play roots music that ranges from rock to funk to gospel. Led by Nelson Bell on tuba and John Ewing on drums and vocals, and featuring veterans of the Seattle's legendary music scene (Darian Aspland - horns and keys, Park Evans - guitar, Chava Mirel - vocals, keys and Zoe Bermet - vocals), they have a New Orleans flavor that blends joyous immediacy with deep grooves and melodic flare. The Moles are comfortable in many settings, from a seedy bar to a large amphitheater to a formal business gathering. Think Dr. John meets Tom Waits to sing the blues with Delaney & Bonnie and the Kinks Muswell Hillbilly Band.
