Bio

Name: Gia Simone
Stage name: Joss Amor
Rapper. Model. Dancer. Actor.

The
audacious and entrancing Joss Amor’s path into the music world has been
just as unconventional as it is intriguing and ferocious. Translating
her music from the experiences of a transwoman deeply plugged into the
party scene in Las Vegas, she broke out in June of 2022 with the
devil-may-care club banger Ima Turn it Up and her vicious follow-up Blow this Back Out. Her third single (Funz)
promises to hit the throttle of an already electrifying music library
that is every bit as envelope-pushing as it is empowering.

With
her music standing as an exciting and modern embrace of the elicit
feminine empowerment seen from the likes of Cardi B, Peaches, and Lil’
Kim, one would be surprised to learn she grew up a quiet kid who shied
away from trouble in quiet family in the city of sin, Las Vegas, NV. Her
first foray into music was performing in a series of boybands in her
youth. But safe music and the charade of performing in a boyband lost
its luster. Committing to her dream of transitioning, she left her
boyband days behind.

Her
journey in transitioning wasn’t an easy one. Working at a make-up
counter to get by, she faced constant discrimination. And while Las
Vegas offers bright lights and glamour to its visitors, it also offers
some hard paths to its inhabitants just looking to survive. Joss turned
to escorting, which eventually led to porn and illicit drugs. And soon
this was joined by a violent and abusive ex who put her through hell.
She found the strength to breakaway from it all and decided to parlay
that strength into her passion for performing. She decided to turn it up.

With
music now replacing her prior profession, she doesn’t shy away from
acknowledging her past in porn and sex work. To the contrary, as an
artist she embraces the themes of sexuality, hustle, survival, and her
pursuit of greatness. Supported by a team of artists, she makes videos
and combines dancing and rapping as she performs locally in the clubs of
Las Vegas. Combining that with her taking on acting roles and being a
published model she wants to continue to be a quadruple threat.

A
proud transwoman, by overcoming her past but not being ashamed of it,
Joss Amor wants to be an example for future generations. If it’s her
hustle, her grind, and the road she’s traveled that all fill the inkwell
from which she writes her lyrics, then it’s her rawness, her
fearlessness, her tenacity, and her magnetic movement that form the
paper.
