Kirk
Margoles has been performing original contemporary folk music, as a singer
songwriter guitarist, in Colorado since the late 1990’s. Prior to this he was the lead singer for
Orphan Train, an acoustic-electric band which performed in the Boston
area. His melodic, lyrically poetic and
rhythmic songs explore themes of love, self realization, nature, and the wild
spirit within us all. Kirk has been inspired by a wide range of artists including John Lennon, Jim Morrison and The Doors, Patti Smith, David Bowie, Leonard
Cohen, Tracy Chapman, Phil Ochs, Beethoven, Villa-Lobos, Franz Kafka, Rainer
Maria Rilke, and various World Music. Influenced by
folk, jazz, classical and rock, Kirk’s compositions take the art of song into dynamic
new dimensions.
