Lanai Sessions

Lanai Sessions consists of Tom Powdermaker on lead vocals and guitar, and Johnny Bernard on lead guitar and vocals. Both play a host of other instruments and write songs collectively.

The band formed in Honolulu, HI in 2012. Both John and Tom grew up on the East Coast, Jersey and Philly respectively, and although both played and worked in the music industry, never crossed paths until both packed up and moved to the most isolated land mass in the entire world. Aloha!!

Making up for lost time quickly, the duo became a professional live act playing every night all over the island. At the same time writing, collaborating, and in a short time, building a massive collection of soulful, hook driven , occasionally folky, rock n roll-pop songs.

The band has been growing exponentially in both its songwriting and its live show. They have recently added a rhythm section and a full time catering staff.
