"Latitude28: Lake Nona-based Band Prepares for World Tour"

Latitude28 Band is a Lake Nona-based entertainment cover band founded by Avinash Singh in 2018. The band covers popular songs in diverse styles ranging from pop, rock, and hip-hop to country, alternative, and dance. The band configuration is dynamic but usually consists of four core musicians and two to four vocalists.

The band's first public show took place at Orlando's iconic House of Blues on October 27, 2018. Quickly rising in recognition and demand, the band this year goes international, with shows booked in Spain, the Netherlands, and, in 2020, Brazil.

Avinash, who goes by "Avi," created the band with his vocalist wife, Anisa, to provide dynamic, crowd-pleasing entertainment at festivals, corporate functions, showcases, weddings, community events, and everything in between. He and Anisa bring over 20 years of immersion in the music industry to the band. They are joined by other veteran musicians as well as new talent that combine to produce a richly diverse performance group.

"People of Lake Nona: Anisa of Latitude28"

Meet Anisa!

Former child counselor, a mother, wife, business owner, singer, and songwriter. I know right – what can’t this dynamic woman do? Anisa is also a singer for Lake Nona’s own up and coming band “Latitude 28” which is an innovative band with fresh and unique musical artists who are the masters of popular covers.

How long have you lived in Lake Nona?

Just about 3 years now… moved from Kissimmee, before then we were in New York.

What is your profession / occupation?

Trick question… I used to be a child counselor, but since our daughter was born, I wanted more flexibility and freedom. Now, I own and operate a couple businesses, my favorite one being my travel agency, CruiseGuruz. I’m also Momager to my little 6-year-old model, and a singer/songwriter. I currently sing with a Caribbean band called The Supertones Band, as well as Lake Nona’s own, Latitude28.

Favorite hobbies?

Other than singing, I love to write. I am currently writing a few books hoping to release two of them this year, along with my album. My family and I are also avid cruisers and try to see new places and experience new cultures as often we can.

What is it about Lake Nona that made you want to live here over anywhere else in Orlando?

Many reasons. We truly believe in Tavistock’s vision for the area. The innovation, the attention to health and our well-being, the social networking opportunities, not just for business but also simply to meet new friends. The location is great… easy access to easy highways and all 4 cruise ports, close to the airport, etc. Plus, everything I need is in the area or will be very soon. The schools and safety of the area were also big sellers when deciding to move here.

What would make Lake Nona an even better place to live for you?

If Lake Nona can have a meet & greet with Elon Musk or Donnie Wahlberg for me, that’d be nice. Other than that, it’s already golden. Seriously can’t think of anything else.

Favorite restaurant in Lake Nona?

Chroma. I love their unique twist on foods that we already love… and the small plates make it easier to order more, which is great for me because I can never decide on what I want. Here, I just order them all!

What do you love most about Lake Nona Social?

When you have a group of people who want to encourage others to get out and explore and network, it’s a great thing. I have been to quite a few fun events and made some really good friends all because of Lake Nona Social. I also finally found crepes in the area because of one of your posts! The events put on by LNS are absolutely wonderful, always thinking of everything and everyone, and creating many great memories for us. - Lake Nona Social Magazine

Bio

Latitude28 is a Top-40's international entertainment band offering free drive-in concerts at outdoor venues around the country. We are a turn-key production--we bring performers, musicians, staging, backline, support staff, lighting, sound, and effects to every performance location.

What do we need? All we require is space, parking staff, and basic security.

What's the cost? We don't charge venues anything and we only charge guests a nominal fee (around $5) to help ensure full attendance.

Our drive-in-show model is a response to the coronavirus shutdowns of traditional performance venues. We want to keep doing what we love to do and provide concert-goers with a safe way to get out and enjoy shows.

Latitude28 Band's 2019/2020 tour has taken us across the United States and to Spain, Holland, the Bahamas, Suriname, Belize, Costa Rica, and Mexico. We specialize in bringing arena-style production to the local stage, performing songs that span genres with something for everyone. We put on a great show and we absolutely love what we do! Check out our website for more information: www.latitude28band.com.

How do we manage coronavirus safety precautions at our drive-in shows? We work with venue staff to implement the following:

--The venue and parking staff mark out socially-distanced parking spaces.

--Individual parties of guests (up to 6 people) sit directly beside or in front of their vehicles.

--Parties may not mingle. This is managed and enforced by parking staff and security personnel.

--Reminders and instructions are given throughout the event via video board messaging and from the stage.

--At least 25 feet of space is maintained between the stage and the first row of cars.

--Face coverings MUST be worn in public by patrons outside of their vehicles.

--All production staff and tech crew wear masks. Band members wear masks except when singing/performing.

--Temperature checks are conducted on all band, staff, and production crew. If anyone is feeling sick, he or she is sent home.

--No one is permitted in the backstage area or on stage except designated personnel.
