Bio

A child of the singer/songwriter movement, and the product of musical parents, Lu began learning guitar at the age of nine, but switched to bass at age 13.  He wrote his first song in the 6th grade, a love song to a classmate.

He formed a few bands that didn't last long, but eventually played his first professional gig at 16.  Emancipated at the age of 17, Lu dropped out of high school at the end of his senior year and moved to Hollywood, where he auditioned and was accepted to Musician's Institute.  He graduated a year later and returned to Wyoming to attain his GED.  While based in Laramie, Wyoming, he toured extensively and performed hundreds of show with a multitude of bands in many styles and genres.

Lu went on to tour 7 countries in Europe with Badstone, the band that eventually would become Blinddog Smokin', but shortly after returning to the US, Lu departed the band and began writing and performing songs solo under the stage name Lucifer Large.  He developed his current style, which has been nicknamed "Apocalypse Blues" and is an amalgam of blues, rock, classical, jazz and latin with vocals that clearly harken to his R&B/Soul/Gospel roots.  The result is frankly unique, palatable and leaves audiences craving encore after encore.  In 1999, Lu released his first solo 5-song EP, "Lucifer Large - A Time For New Spiders".

A father of four, Lu currently resides in Loveland, CO with his wife of 26 years and two youngest children.  He is preparing material for his second album, "Lord of the Heart", due to be released in 2015.
