"GDP Band Hype: Madison Ray and All the Single Ladies"

Madison Ray and All The Single Ladies is a high energy five-piece band, and the self-proclaimed originators of “stanque” pop, which can be described as pop music with influences in heavy jazz, dirty blues, flamboyant funk and solid rock. A heavy guitar and bass monster can be chased away by a piano-driven pop ballad, which gives way to a swanky funk dance groove. There’s absolutely no way you’re not dancing to this “stanque” when they take the stage.

Madison Ray is an enthusiastic front man, and every member of the band is just as energetic and fun to watch. Chris Powell, Grey Lovelace, Brenden Pugh, and Kirk Ford make up ‘All The Single Ladies’, and their tight sound leaves room for some extreme keyboard dancing and bass thrusting. It’s contagious and addicting. I first experienced Madison Ray and All The Single Ladies at the RAWards Des Moines Semi-Finals at Wooly’s, where they were named RAW Des Moines’ “Musicians of the Year”, and I’ve been following them ever since.

Ray has also launched ‘LOVE’, a fashion line he collaborated on with Des Moines designer, Elena Flores. It’s obvious he has a love of fashion and flair when you see him perform with his ‘Single Ladies’. Their 2013 release ‘Starship To Mars’ is definitely a ‘getting pumped up to go out on Saturday night’ album.

Fun Funk, swank stanque, and lunar tunes. Once you see these guys, you’re going to make sure you see them again. Make it a priority to check these ‘Single Ladies’ out at GDP. - Des Moines Music Coalition

Bio

Madison Ray is a soulful singer and songwriter homegrown in Americas heartland. His musical style draws inspiration from all of his lifes experiences from performing in festivals in Orange County, California to singing and dancing abroad in Tokyo, Japan. He believes that honesty is the best policy, especially in the arena of music, and in a fast-paced and modern world, he manages to assert his ...individuality while drawing upon the universality of the human condition.

In late 2010, Madison, with the help of longtime collaborator Chris Powell and producer Steve Capp, released his first EP titled, The Revolution, Volume 1 along with its lead single Activation! While this was a major musical conquest, he knew that he couldnt take his next steps alone.

Enter: All the Single Ladies.

After a thrilling debut at LOVE: The Naissance of Fashion Rock, winning the title of RAW's 2012 Des Moines Musicians of the Year, and releasing their first full length album "Starship to Mars," Madison Ray and All the Single Ladies are ready to "Rule the World!"
