Marcus & Marketo have been astonishing live audiences and competition judges with a vocal blend that can fill a hall with powerhouse virtuosity or stunningly crisp and quiet harmonies. After performing for Grammy Award winning songwriter Jim Peterik, he shouted, “Amazing!” from his seat. “...honestly I got goosebumps.”
This refreshing duo has an eclectic writing style with Marketo’s gospel roots and classical background, and Marcus’ love of country and soul. Somehow when Marcus' gritty vocal power blends with the clarity of Marketo’s classically trained voice, it moves people from all walks of life. Together they produce a sound that gives audiences an experience that is new and refreshing, but also feels nostalgic and familiar.
Marcus & Marketo recently won the Oaklawn's Got Talent competition at the prestigious Lerner Theater. They have also performed multiple times at Acorn Theater after placing among the top three singer-songwriting competition finalists. Their original song, Call Upon, was also a top ten choice for the International Worship Ready Songwriting Competition.
