"Vote For Your Favorite D.C. Tiny Desk Contest Video"

Ménage À Garage's video selected by WAMU as one of DC's "top 10" video submissions to NPR's Tiny Desk Contest 2016.

....Here’s the deal. After watching all 160 videos, I picked 10 “semifinalists” and arrayed those in a short playlist. Then I made a gigantic playlist of every single D.C.-area video submitted to the Tiny Desk Contest..... - WAMU 88.5 Bandwidth

"Podcast for February 9th, 2016"

"I really like that punky, bubbly energy they got going on."

"MENÀGE À GARAGE: THE DEMO EP"

Menàge À Garage is a pop punk band from Washington, D.C. This is a band with a very unique yet familiar sound. Somewhere between heavy punk rock and a slower indie sound, Menàge À Garage firmly forges their own unique style. All of the musicians in this band stand out. The way the songs are written on The Demo EP utilizes the bass, guitar and drums of this three piece. What stands out to me is the way they can write a dark sound over a nice melody. Die in a fire, the opener of the EP, is full of a morose speculation about life, and the way that good things can fade away.... - Glory In Sound

"Home Away From Home"

MÉNAGE A GARAGE - This time around we got hit by some power pop. Their whole set felt like taking a journey. It takes a lot of work to make a setlist coherent enough for the transitions to be smooth from song to song. And these guys freakin’ nailed it. - Hopeless Otis (band blog)

"DC-based pop punk Ménage À Garage release aptly named debut record, The Demo EP"

Kicking down the door right away with heavy percussion and cascading guitar work, Ménage À Garage's debut EP is a treat, put simply. With vocals ringing like They Might Be Giants's John Flansburgh and cutting lyrical content, some of the largest classic tropes of punk prevail throughout the record: some storytelling, some angst, and a critical eye for life. You'll be tapping your foot to the beats before you know and then banging your head with the crescendos along with anyone else listening to this fine group. Ménage À Garage has been very busy, playing show after show at staple DC venues, so look out for announcements for spring and summer gigs! - The Deli Magazine

Bio

Ménage À Garage (MÀG) is a pop punk power trio from Washington, DC. Since forming in 2015, MÀG has been immersed in the growing music scene in DC, performing at many local venues including DC 9 and the Rock & Roll Hotel.

MÀG performs all-original music from the trifecta of rock storytelling (teen angst, corrupt politics, and outer space), and have become known for their energetic and heartfelt performance style, affecting melodies, and meticulous attention to songcraft and lyrics.

MÀG is Jenny on bass, Alyson on drums, and John on lead vocals and guitar. Prior to MÀG, Jenny held down the low end for Echo Seven and Sugarpants, and Alyson drummed for The Hudson Falcons. They each opened for a range of touring artists like Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Dropkick Murphys, and the Queers.

Having taken a different path, John is a former music teacher and classically trained cellist. While honing his songwriting chops, John spent two decades playing string quartets at weddings, musical productions, church cantatas and Hallelujah Choruses, and regional symphony orchestras, along the way performing in pickup orchestras supporting the likes of Vince Gill and Ray Charles. Since 2002, John has served as creative director and sugar daddy for venerable internet songwriting competition website SongFight.org.
