"Within Chaos'sHaltom City Hellfest"

The crowd started to fill in and the costumes became more intricate. It was a mixed bunch of ages and all the crazy looks came out to play. Up next on the bill was Mile Zero, who kept the aggressiveness high and set the stage for Brazos River Outlaws to send us onward into the evening and the second half of the set list. Beneath A Dying Sun was a highlight of the night. These dude’s absolutely rip. I honestly can’t say how I’ve never heard of them before, but I am certainly a fan now. They also had super reasonable merch and music pricing. I was thoroughly bummed that their set was cut short due to the night some how running almost an hour behind schedule. The long time running Horror Cult assaulted out ear drums next. With the fest being Halloween themed, they brought a solid look to the stage with all member dressed as something. The drummer was Captain Spaulding, which is one of my favorite characters (Rest in peace Sid Haig). The crowd started to fill in and the costumes became more intricate. Bio:

MILEZERO’s humble beginnings date back to 2001 in the Northeast Fort Worth area.  The original lineup consisted of Tim Fox on lead guitar, Mike Minor on bass, Casey Kirkpatrick on drums, and Eddy Gonzales pulling double duty on rhythm guitar and vocals.  The group went on to record their first 4 song EP in Denton, Tx.  A few years later at the end of 2003 going into 2004, a lineup change occurred that brought in rhythm guitarist Brandon Loggins, freeing up Eddy to focus on his vocal role. It was also at this time that current drummer Adrian Lopez was brought into the mix.  For the next few years, the group’s primary focus was to play as many local venues/shows in order to establish a name in the scene. Unfortunately in 2006, the group was dealt its first of many setbacks. Lead guitarist Tim Fox had to make the tough choice to leave and part ways. This setback would prove to be a blessing in disguise as it would push the remaining members to press in and delve into each of their respective influences and backgrounds to evolve and grow in their respective talent roles. MILEZERO continued to move forward sharing the stages with local notable bands such as Rivethead, Negative 263, Stir the Silence, Jacknife, Within Chaos and national act Prong. In mid 2008 the diversity of influences that would range from one extreme of the musical spectrum like metal staples such as Pantera, Slipknot, and Lamb of God to the other extreme such as Cypress Hill, Ice Cube, and even Ludacris would begin to come through in MILEZERO’s 2008 EP recorded and engineered by Ed Alvarado in Richland Hills, TX.  A year later, the band would take what at first was thought to be a short break. Despite this  “short” break, MILEZERO crashed the music scene and hit the ground running to packed show on November 5th, 2016 at The Rail. This first  comeback performance was so well received that doors for future show opportunities began opening quickly and more often.  Such an opportunity came when the band was invited to play all the way in El Paso, Texas for the 8th Annual Riding for Boobs Event in 2018. Riding for Boobs is a bike run in El Paso, TX who is dedicated to help raise funds for women in the El Paso Community who have been diagnosed with breast cancer, survivors, of families who were impacted by the loss of a loved one due to breast cancer. Shortly after this event, another door would open for MILEZERO that have them share the stage with Powerman 5000 in March of 2020! Unfortunately, the COVID-19 epidemic would have other plans. Currently the band continues work on new tracks for an upcoming album hoping to soon be released.
