"Future bass, pop, and goth collide on Nazariff and Rosé Throne's remix of "Close" [Premiere]"

While idly searching Instagram for #goth, DC-based producer Nazariff found So Below, a self-proclaimed purveyor of goth pop hailing from New Zealand. Nazariff produces his own style he calls "Witch House," which blends house and bass music with a gothic motif. When Nazariff heard "Close" for the first time, he knew he had to remix it, resulting in a musical connection spanning halfway around the world quite literally.

Nazariff and Rosé Throne infuse more drama into the poppy original via trap snares and sub bass elements that rise and fall with So Below's moody vocals. In Nazariff's words, the "Close" remix "captures the emotions of the lyrics of the original and puts them into overdrive." It's hard to dispute that this remix adds depth and dimension to the original, and if you like this effort, you'll be elated to hear that there's a full EP in the works by this duo. - Earmilk

"Music Monday: Nazariff"

Genre-bending producer and DJ-Nazariff has released a hypnotic remix to the latest single from Purity Ring ‘Stardew.’ The ‘Stardew (Nazariff Remix)’ is a synth wave/trap/witch house interpretation of the original that captures both the light and dark tones of the lyrics.

“Purity Ring is one of my favorite bands and I fell in love with the track immediately,” said Nazriff. “My sound is driven by dark menacing dives with euphoric undertones and I was inspired to add my own spin to ‘Stardew.’

"Nazariff Offers A Witch House Re-Imagining Of Ekalis Babylon"

Hey all! We hope your Wednesday is going well. Today we're bringing you a pre-Halloween reboot of Ekalis, ‘Babylon'.

Nazariff, a young producer hailing from our nations capital, D.C., brings to life his newest taste making genre, ‘Witch House', a dark web of creepy sound designs, spooky ambiances and an overall deep Halloween themed vibe. This is the perfect track to begin your October musical rounds.

The highlights of the track, other than the extremely original make up now known as “Witch House”, are the crescendo's and drops, intricately produced around a single emotion and poured out over an absolutely stellar percussion patter. We hope to hear more from Nazariff in the future!

Bio

As oversaturated with paint-by-numbers productions as contemporary electronic music may be, Nazariff A.K.A.Rodger Edmonds beautifully blurs the line separating mainstream from obscure. An inventive and capable producer who has helped shape the soundscapes of numerous hip-hop, rock and pop artists painting them with dark overtones, his solo releases exhibit broader dimension than the trap and future bass tracks to which they most closely compare. In addition he has composed score pieces for TV film.

From remixes of songs like The Weeknd’s “Heartless” and So Below’s “Close” to originals like his genre-bending October 2020 single, “Demons,” Edmonds has not only demonstrated a keen ear for sound design subtlety but an advanced sense of melody and arrangement as well. His DJ sets also never disappoint, which has landed the name Nazariff on the bill of such massives as Dreamscape and Nightmare Festival.
As the turning tides of electronic music result in a new wave of fans whom seek out sounds of greater substance, Nazariff’s intelligent yet infectious signature style has struck a chord with more listeners than ever before. Keep an eye out for his name on the flyer for your favorite festival as his discography continues to grow.
