"Built 4 Hip-Hop"

BRUNSWICK, GA – Cameron Bakhshizad, better known by his stage name CopyRyte, is an artist from South Georgia who has been making a name for himself over the past five years. With successful singles and album releases since 2014, this up-and-coming artist is leaving his mark on the music industry. And now he’s poised to grow to international fame with his new single “Never Had Shit.”

The song chronicles his life growing up in the projects and moving from home to home. Music was his outlet from the hardships of life and when his mother and brother passed away in the same year, he says he wouldn’t have made it were it not for music.

“When my mom passed away, I had to find a way to cope with it and I started writing stuff,” CopyRyte said. “I’d pick a beat and start writing stuff. The first thing I ever wrote was about my mom and eventually I got good at it and decided I should start taking it seriously. When I dropped my first project and it worked out and everyone was like, ‘Wow!’ – I knew I had something.”

The new single – which has an explicit version and an edited version – combines a chill vibe with CopyRyte’s trademark flow and a hook that is catchy. The lyrics dive into the journey he’s taken from having nothing to being in a place where he’s now financially successful because of his music. When he first became interested in hip-hop as a child, his family was against it and tried to steer him away from music. But growing up through various stages of being broke, he said hip-hop was something he continued to come back to time and time again.

He recorded his first song in 2013 and within a month he’d produced his first mixtape called “Area 51.” He spent the better part of the next year developing his unique sound and style. At the end of 2014, he dropped his first album “Reverse Psychology.” That project put him on the map, and he quickly became known throughout hip-hop circles for his witty punchlines and energetic performances. Between 2015 and 2016, he traveled to different states in search of venues and events to show off his talent. His music started to be played all over the country and he performed in locales in multiple states. Since that time, he has continued to tour and has worked on a couple of new singles, the most recent of which being “Never Had Shit.”

“I definitely want my music to be relatable,” CopyRyte said. “I want to be on that level where people know me because of the things I talk about. I want people to know I understand what they’re going through. A lot of things people listen to when they’re mad or whatever is going on in their life, that’s what I’m feeling, too. That’s how I want my music to be – the kind of music that connects with people through any kind of life situation. I have a mood for everything and I want to be a voice for the people. My music can be there when you don’t know what to say or how to emote.” -

This proved to be true in 2016 at the CIAA, when he opened for Nas and stole the show. He blew the crowd away again in 2017, and had the whole audience on their feet rocking to every lyric at the World Underground Competition.

This Iranian-Italian American artist is not only a talented artist and writer but is also a Sous Chef.
