Party Jacket is the indie pop project of Joshua Grimes based out of the suburbs in northern Illinois. He’s gearing up for the release of his debut album Weekend Exotic which will be released later this summer.
One listen to the demo of “Can’t Have You” will win over fans of acts like Wild Nothing and Craft Spells, digging deep into its 80s indie rock sound. Soothing vocals lead the charge of some groovy riffs and atmosphere soaked deep in rhythm and soul. Considering this is only a demo, there’s quite a lot of promise not just on this song, but for the album and Party Jacket’s budding career.

“Company” is the first single from Party Jacket’s forthcoming debut full-length Weekend Exotic, set for release this July. The project of Josh Grimes, Party Jacket touts a very pleasant-sounding aesthetic that blends aspects of jangle-pop and serene folk. “Company” floats along on Real Estate-esque guitar tones and breezy vocals, which resemble Paul Simon at points with the soaring breathiness (“summer’s out of reach” bit past the one-minute mark in particular). This is a high-quality track from a promising, emerging act in Party Jacket. - Obscure Sound

After years of playing, writing, and recording in various bands and musical projects around the Chicagoland area, Joshua Grimes decided it was time to fully dedicate himself to his own project, Party Jacket. From the summer of 2015, Party Jacket has been writing and recording synthesizer and guitar-driven pop songs and is nearing the completion of it's debut album 'Weekend Exotic' set for release in September '17. Catch Party Jacket at a show around the Chicago and Milwaukee areas.
