"RIGHT ON, KID GIVE A GLIMPSE OF TOURING LIFESTYLE IN NEW VIDEO—WATCH"

AP is proud to team up with Albuquerque pop punkers Right On, Kid to premiere the new video for their lead single, “Tracer,” from the band’s latest EP, When Words Are Enough.

Featuring Knuckle Puck bassist Ryan Rumchaks, this uplifting pop-punk tune conveys the mental pressure and emotional difficulties of rising as a musician while also inspiring listeners to continue chasing their dreams.
We’re so excited to be able to share the music video for ‘Tracer’ with everyone,” vocalist Zach Rose says. “I think this is the best song/music video combination we’ve done so far, and we’re all really happy with the final product. ‘Tracer’ was ultimately written about how hard it can be to chase a dream—in our case, working toward becoming full-time musicians.”

Directed by Mario Rivera, the music video captures the touring lifestyle, showing captivating footage of the band’s time on the road.

“We wanted to show the whole spectrum of emotions felt while on a tour and how rewarding it can be to be able to travel with your best friends playing songs that you’ve worked so hard to create,” Rose explains. “Special thanks to Mario Rivera for helping us turn this video into something special.” - Alternative Press

"Right On, Kid! on ‘When Words Are Enough’ and The New Generation of Pop Punk"

With classic pop punk elements mixed in with their own uniquely personal lyrics, the refreshing way in which Right On, Kid! create their music is something we are beginning to see in many different forms during this sudden “new era” of pop punk. Alongside other acts growing in popularity within pop punk, Unturned, Young Culture and Youth Fountain to name a few, this new wave of acts are paying tribute to the bands that have come and gone while reintroducing the genre to a new generation of listeners that will grow up without pop punk outlets like Vans Warped Tour. - HIghlight Magazine

Albuquerque pop-punks Right, On Kid have come a long way since their formation by Zach Rose and Nick Encinias as an acoustic project. 2017’s EP ‘Forever Missing Out’ was met with acclaim from across the alternative music media and the New Mexico 5-piece have raised the bar once more on upcoming 5-track ‘When Words are Enough’.

"PREMIERE | Right On, Kid Pumps It Out On ‘Tracer’"

The band’s sound blends the gleam of pop with the visceral energy of punk, producing edgy music full of irresistible oomph.

“Tracer” opens on a gentle elegant guitar flowing into a rousing, muscular emission of potent, dirty guitars. As the harmonics descend to the first verse, traveling on a fat bass line and brawny crunching drums, Rumchak’s voice infuses the tune with deliciously brash tones, yet soft with nuanced timbres. On the chorus, the guitars ramp up to snarling hurricane levels, as Rumchak’s grimacing rasp lets loose with galvanizing energy.

Tight, remote vocal echoes add dimension and sonic depth to the music. A glittering breakdown gives the tune a scrumptiously laced suspension.

“Tracer” is lit! Full of beau coup momentum, a magnetic rhythm, and surging sluices of hypertrophic heftiness, Right On, Kid pushes it out. - Tattoo.com

"EP Review: Right On, Kid! – ‘Forever Missing Out’"

Albuquerque punks Right, On Kid!‘s new EP, Forever Missing Out, drops TODAY via Manic Kat Records and we are digging the ‘modern-day pop-punk’ vibes they are pushing out. When the Defend Pop-Punk ‘movement’ came to light, it unknowingly created a vibrant sub-genre of punk that was previously just lumped in with the masses. Bands like Man Overboard, The Story So Far & Real Friends taking the seemingly same delivery but reproducing it with their own signatures – Right, On Kid! joins that part of the pop-punk family under the Defend Pop-Punk umbrella. Right, On Kid! takes harsher than not vocals with catchy hooks then pairs them with the up-tempo melodies that have been blasting through the pop-punk scene.

This is one of those EP’s that fills summer playlists – the type of playlists you blast on your way to the Vans Warped Tour to get you hyped [or that you lose your mind over when you hear it live at Warped 2k17 in Albuquerque, NM]. This is the EP that fills every punk vein in your body then explodes on impact with the inevitable moshing. It’s the EP we didn’t know was missing from our lives. Even with only 5 songs – you’ll have these ridiculously addictive tracks on repeat.

Right, On Kid! originally started as an acoustic duo, Zach Rose and Nick Encinias, in 2014 but soon found something was missing – after adding RJ Butler, Tieler Cooper, Elijah Pomerleau [taking the place of the original drummer in 2016], this now 5-piece group was ready to hit the ground running in the hopes of making the pop-punk gods proud. ROK must be doing something right since they’ve been able to share the stage with the likes of Hawthorne Heights, Forever Came Calling, Secondhand Serenade and at the end of the month with pop-punk legends, Senses Fail. - Babe Talk TV

"PREMIERE: Right On, Kid! get introspective with “Clarity"

The tail end of my adolescence saw my musical journey take an abrupt about-face. You couldn’t tell fifteen-year-old Joel that Myspace-core wasn’t the best genre of all time or that Fearless records weren’t absolutely killing the game. That shift was in no small part because of a band called The Wonder Years— and as the final seconds rolled of “Washington Square Park” rolled in, so began a love affair with pop-punk. I dove head-first into the genre and fell head-over-heels with countless bands. Today, I’m excited to share a new song from a young band called Right On, Kid!– a band that could easily have found a home in my daily rotation.

“Clarity” is the first song from the band’s forthcoming Forever Missing Out EP and feels like the perfect medley of all the band’s I loved in my freshmen year of college. Influence from bands like I Call Fives and Forever Came Calling are abundant, but there’s something about the way Right On, Kid! is able to channel them that makes it feel fresh. The track is the kind of scathing and disapproving track that feels primed-and-ready for packed and sweaty venues full of rowdy kids and crowd-surfing.

When asked about the track, Right On, Kid! said: “With the release of Clarity we wanted the single from our EP to hit hard and display our growth as musicians. Clarity is all about learning from past mistakes and failures by realizing that the things you do and say to people can’t be taken back. The only way to better relationships with others is to be transparent and not let your ego take over how you truly feel about the people who mean the most in your life.” - Substream Magazine
