Bio

One of the country's rising young songwriters, Savannah Valentino may be only 21 but she has years of composition behind her and is now embarking on a career that already has her touring with some of the top musicians and bands in the country at some of the best rooms in the mid-Atlantic region.

Savannah's now a regular fixture at fantastic venues like Purple Fiddle and Empty Glass (WV), Steel City Coffeehouse (PA), Cyclops and NightCat (MD) and Ashland Coffee + Tea (VA) as well as festivals in those areas.

The Richmond native's fans are not only regular music patrons but some of the top nationally-touring musicians from Nashville to Austin and NYC to LA. She has opened for multi-Grammy and Americana winner Jim Lauderdale, Grammy nominee John Fullbright, 2-time Grammy nominee Karter Jaymes, Americana nominee Elizabeth Cook, the incredible songwriter Phil Roy (Ray Charles, Pops Staples, Mavis Staples, The Neville Brothers), the great pop artist Jenny Owen Youngs, and Americana/Grand Ole Opry veterans The Black Lillies...Savannah even performed alongside the legendary HR from Bad Brains at the 2012 Pigtown Festival.

None other than the Texas songwriting legend Eric Taylor offers the highest praise. Taylor, who has worked with the likes of Lyle Lovett, Nanci Griffith, Steve Earle, Townes Van Zandt, Robert Earl Keen and others, will be producing Savannah's debut record at his studio outside Austin.

"If the name Savannah Valentino in itself doesn't catch your attention then something's wrong. Have it checked out. I've done several shows with Savannah over the past few years, and she keeps growing with talent and composure. A beautiful voice with a writer's edge, and she's not afraid of the guitar. There is something about her focus that has an appeal rarely seen in someone so young. Don't miss the chance to see her and hear what she can do with a song." - Eric Taylor

"Breathily true...If wistful songs of anger and loneliness need a home, Savannah is where they go to be sung. She's been setting audiences on gorgeousness for a while now and we here at SNAFU HQ are convinced that there are two kinds of songwriters in the world, those who are awed by her skills, and those who haven't heard her yet. Don't be the latter. Come out...so you can be awed.:
- Sunday Night All Folked Up

Aside from the aforementioned, Savannah has also played with and opened for a diverse array of artists ranging from the Americana world's Amy Speace and Will Kimbrough (Nashville) to the Indie Rock/Pop acts Bombadil (Ramseur Records/NC). The Spring Standards (NYC) and Leslie Stevens and the Badgers (LA)
