Bio

ScottyKV Artist Bio

I feel creating a real life connection/experience with a fan is the the ultimate high.

Hello my name is ScottyKV, I am 19 years old and I’m a Rap/HipHop artist. I was born in Las Vegas NV, but I have been living in Southern Utah for the last 8 years. Rap and HipHop have had an extremely large impact on my life not only as music but as a culture. Music to me has been so much more than a career, it has been a creative outlet to express my happiness, sadness, struggles and ambition. Music is a lifestyle. It also gives me the opportunity to perform in support of worthy causes such as our veterans.

I started rapping when I was 14, recording my first EP, which was more of a mixtape, and was my introduction to the world of recording. A year later I entered a video rap contest held by HopSin’s record label Funk Volume. My entry had a lot of positive feedback and really solidified my spot as a known local artist. So I took a temporary break from recording and spent a year and a half writing my first album, Limitless, which contains nine songs and a poem. Limitless hit online stores iTunes, Amazon, etc. Jan 14, 2015. I am very proud of the songs on Limitless and when I perform the songs they are really well received. In the summer that same year I released my first single Dreams, which in my opinion is one of my best songs. With no promotion it got 1,000 streams on Spotify in under 3 days. It was shortly after this I started to travel across the country to get the word out. I visited many large college campuses in many states as well as countless cities and towns promoting Limitless and Dreams. I spent a good amount of time on this particular trip promoting in Canada as well.

I had started working on a new EP and a single that was to be released a couple of months before the release of the EP although the EP and single had no correlation. The single was a tribute song to my favorite college football team and was created to be epic. The song title is Winning Streak and this is musically my most complex song. With a large chorus and full marching band drums all mixed with a very energetic beat, this is a song to be remembered. Winning Streak charted at #7 on iTunes for New HipHop releases and was my first song to chart Top 10.

Jan 26, 2016 my newest EP N-O-W-H-E-R-E dropped. It contains an Intro, 4 songs and an Outro. Themed “No Where to Now Here”, the EP is about celebrating how far I’ve come since my start. The project has a positive message and is very genuine. If someone only bought one project I would recommend N-O-W-H-E-R-E because it is very uplifting and encourages people to follow their dreams.

After this I had a lot more travel and the launch of my YouTube this spring. I felt it was important to rep my town and did so with my song and YouTube video 435. This song has a huge following in my home state and especially in the town where I grew up. I also recently released a single and YouTube video titled Lyrical with my most complex wordplay and it’s a great record. I’ve heard from many that it is their favorite song. And tomorrow on the 4th of July 2016, my song 54 Flows is hitting online stores. I performed this impromptu on a cruise three weeks ago and the response was incredible.

Whenever I sit down and write a song, I do so with the intention of making something that people will enjoy or relate to and be positively influenced by. After seeing the good effects my music has had on so many individuals, I want to make sure everything I do makes a positive impact on the lives of my fans.
