"Wanna Be Florida Blog Feature"

In Far Rockaway, you’ll find an inspiring hip-hop artist SEYI. Besides being a student at Farmingdale State College working on getting his pro-communications degree and is a host of his very own radio show on Ramnationradio.com through mobile on the “tune in” app. SEYI is an active member of his fraternity Tau Kappa Epsilon. You would think he would have to much on his plate. But with good scheduling and understanding of his priorities, he still focus’ on his music. He’s been able to perform at Revolution and at Empirium (Long Islands Biggest Party). Currently SEYI is working on his second mixtape, which will be “N.I.B No In Between“. Releasing his single WANNA BE from his upcoming project. WANNA BE sets the tone right. SEYI keeps his flow and lyrics over Mr. Marx production calm, cool, and collect.

Honestly I believe what makes me different is the story I am telling and the perspective that I speak from because I feel that I’m expressing thoughts and emotions that aren’t heard often in hip-hop. – SEYI
Stayed tuned for N.I.B and anything else going on for SEYI! Tune in on Thursdays for his Used Too Thursdays show. Playing you’re favorite throwbacks. - Nikkisixx

"Texas Blog Interview/Feature"

TMW: Where are you from?

SEYI: Far Rockaway NY born and raised but I've been making strides since I started living on campus at Farmingdale State College.

TMW: 3 people that have inspired you to pursue music?

SEYI: I'd have to say my mother, my middle/high school music teacher, and myself.

TMW: What makes your music different than other artists out today, specifically in the rap genre?

SEYI: I feel like what makes me stands out in the rap genre is that I'm not afraid to be vulnerable in my music and just lay it out there for whoever is listening. I'm being sincere and nobody on this planet can do me better than myself.

TMW: Name one artist that you would love to open for.

SEYI: That's hard haha, probably Kid Cudi. I feel that our sounds would mesh well and his fans would appreciate my music and the messages with it. It'll just have great vibes.

TMW: What is a motto that you live by daily?

SEYI: It's all about perspective. We've all lived different lives that got us to this point and that influences how we individually view everything.

TMW: Any musical struggles that you've had to go through to get you where you are today?

SEYI: Yes at first I wasn't getting the support I was hoping for in high school, and that kind of hurt the quality of the music looking back on it. I was trying too hard to prove people wrong instead of just making music and letting that speak for itself. Another struggle was actually getting my music heard, can't even say how many emails I've sent to anybody in the industry, and when I wasn't getting any responses I would question myself. When you're trying to be bigger and better than what anybody thinks you're capable of, you need to find validation at times. I wasn't getting it but that's starting to change slowly but surely.

TMW: Any advice for upcoming independent rappers?

SEYI: My advice is to not rush the process. Take the time to really fine tune your craft and find your sound. I've been recording for almost 5 years now I'm starting to feel like I've found a nice sound for myself. Basically just take your time on your craft things will happen when you're ready.

TMW: Have any upcoming projects or performances?

SEYI: I have my second mixtape coming real soon. It's my first one since 2011 so I'm beyond excited for the reaction from it. I have the bulk of it completed and I feel like I'm sitting on some dope stuff. It's gonna be called "N>I>B" which stands for No In Between, putting your all into what you love or why even bother. The arrows symbolize progression and no matter where you going just make sure it's forward. Right now I'm trying to set up as much summer shows as possible. Got something in the Hamptons for July and my recent show is gonna air on local tv sometime in May. Would love to travel out of NY for a gig that would be sick.

TMW: Who do you have on your playlist rotation currently?

SEYI: Been listening to Wale, J. Cole, Old Kanye projects, also some smooth acoustic joints to mellow me out.

TMW: 3 words to describe your music?

SEYI: I would describe my music as eclectic, uplifting, and genuine. - The Modern Wonder

"TOP 5 SUBMISSIONS OF THE WEEK (15TH TO 21ST JUNE)"

Far Rockaway emcee Seyi shows some brilliance on his single Sippin Tea. Just like the meme that inspired the title, Seyi wastes no time in doing what he knows best while giving the nay sayers the Tea sipping’ treatment.

Latest single off the mixtape “N>I>B” coming soon. Summer anthem for 2015 and all the good days in between. - TECKZILLA

"New Music: SEYI – Sippin Tea Ft Matt Patick"

brings us his latest track called SIPPIN TEA. The track also features fellow Farmingdale State College Student Matt Patick. SIPPIN TEA will be on SEYI next mixtape N>I>B. This track fits well with that summer time, all around good vibes. SIPPIN TEA is a popular reference of Kermit the Frog’s MEME of him sipping tea and looking in the other direction. It says But That’s None Of My Own Business. I feel that inspired the title to this song and also the attitude. SEYI see’s that if you’re not putting in work, his going to work even harder. Sweet beat produced by Amir S, all the way from Canada. Be on the look out for SEYI’s upcoming mixtape N>I>B and don’t forget to follow him on TWITTER. - nikkisiixxhiphop
