Seylah grew up as the oldest of 3 by 2 immigrant parents. With a mother from Panama and father from Jamaica, Seylah saw on a day-to-day basis what it meant to be a hard worker. Seylah did not grow up around music but always drew close to it. Idolizing artists like Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, and James Brown, he would watch how they captivate the stage. With dreams of doing the same one day, Seylah knew that he would have to perfect the entirety of becoming an artist. Jeremiah began songwriting at the age of 16. With his first song titled “Gone” he wrote more to what he saw then what he experienced. Living vicariously through the eyes of those he saw in love more than personal experiences because of his sheltered lifestyle, he continued his journey for many years. Tapping into the culture and the very essence of making music in every aspect, Seylah's motto is "Why wait for someone when you can do it yourself". With that, he started taking his music seriously in 2017, branching from under the band Better by Tuesday and pushing himself as a solo artist. Seylah still is a part of the band but dreams of one day selling out stadiums. Seylah compares himself to the likes of Chance the Rapper, Kanye West, Musiq Soulchild, and many more artists who have revolutionized the art form.
