"#PeepTheVisual: Swami Netero – “Young Dad”"

While children are (almost) always a blessing, many trials and tribulations come along with becoming a young parent. You’re forced to miss out on a lot of nightlife activity, money is usually a bit tight, among other things. But all of those pale in comparison to be shut away from your child, or being thrown through the ringer by your partner in the journey of parenthood. This is the notion that Las Vegas native Swami Netero looks to bring to the forefront in his sobering new visual, “Young Dad“.

Enlisting a banging beat from fellow Sin City native, Trade Voorhees, Netero wears his heart on his sleeve in the new visual, which follows Netero contemplating what went wrong as he thinks of his child. “Been awhile since you smiled/ but you’re having our child/ so we gotta be her idols instead of acting like rivals” raps Netero over the eerie track off of his 2016 released album, Wordsmith.

"RESPECT. The Tape: Swami Netero – ‘Wordsmith’"

Bars, bars, and more bars. Oh did I say bars? That’s what to expect when you turn on the lyrical new project, Wordsmith, from Las Vegas native Swami Netero. The 8-track-project showcases Netero flashing his lyrical dexterity as he spits thoughtful bars over soulful beats.

From the absolute get go, Netero proves himself worthy of the Wordsmith title with the intro, “F**k Yourself“. The hard hitting track features Netero spitting aggressive, inspirational bars accompanied by the chantful hook, “If you don’f f**k with me, then you can f**k yourself!”. The track proves to be one of the many gems on the album as Swami seamlessly switches from aggressive to introspective on many of the tracks. Nowhere is this more apparent than on the back to back tracks, “Charleston & Nellis” and “Young Dad” which are two totally different styles. “Charleston & Nellis” highlights Netero paying homage to his home of Eastside Las Vegas while “Young Dad” — the standout track on the project — see’s Swami take a bit more of a sobering stance on this track about the tribulations of a young parent.

In all, the project is a refreshing detour from the heavy party music that is currently demanding most of our attention. Other standouts from the project include; “Fallen” and “All Good” which features Hanuman, Haze and a beautiful vocal chorus from DayDay.
