Bio

Tali Freed is a Singer / Songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who performs extensively in the greater Boston Area.  She performs solo (vocals/mandolin/keys) and as an acoustic duo backed by musical collaborator Alex Oster (guitar).

In addition to singing lead vocals, Tali has also sung live background vocals and acted as a supporting band member for many years for varying local acts, which have included: Jeff Jam, Yani Batteau, Janet Connerney, and Katie Stodder.  She has been singing on stage since the age of 2.  She has written a self-esteem self-care workbook for singers called Pass Your Own Audition (available wherever books are sold) and she teaches voice lessons and workshops.  Some venues Tali has performed as a Singer/Songwriter have included: the MFA theatre, Tufts WMFO freedom radio (91.5 FM), The Berklee Performance Center, The Burren, Lizard Lounge, All Asia, Aeronaut Brewing Company, Arts At The Armory, and at festivals and fundraisers.  Tali has done extensive studio work, and you can hear her harmonies on studio recordings, for Artists including:  Rachel Gambiza, Jeff Jam, Deb Picard, Liz Borden Band, and The Revels.  Studios she has sung in have included: Caveman Music (MA), Big T Produtions (MA), OCI Records (AZ), and The Enterprise Studio (CA).  Venues she has sung at have included: (MA): Fenway Park, Johnny D's, Main Streets Market & Cafe, The Middle East Upstairs, Sanders Theatre, and (AZ) The Web Theatre.  Tali has performed professionally in an educational touring theatre troupe, doing shows for schools and colleges and events, including: Hope & Inspiration at Roxburry Community College, the NiATx Conference in TX, and the Students Against Destructive Decisions national convention in MA.  She graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2006, having studied Voice there, with scholarship.  In 2007 Tali released a self-made full-length (solo vocal/piano) album of original songs, and in 2012 she released (and produced) her first full-length fully professionally produced and recorded CD, called: Feet On The Ground.  (Stream-able / purchasable at: www.nimbitmusic.com/natalifreed).  In 2014 an EP called Spare Moments followed, with Tali singing & playing solo (vocals, mandolin & violin) on all the tracks (more of her original songs).  She is currently working on another EP of solo songs and an EP of co-writes with Alex Oster.

Tali's music appeals to many audiences and some of her original songs are about difficult topics - thus using music as not only an  entertainment tool but also a vehicle for voicing topics into discussion. Tali has therefore performed at typical entertainment venues and also for events, causes, and atmospheres where the songs add to advocacy, discussion and action.
