The Deep State is wearing the erstwhile underground sound of Massachusetts in the modern age. With a nod to their indie-rock lo-fi heroes, they wink at country and Americana while burying it in a wall of noise. Just as their big hooks and strong singalongs are both familiar and new, the Deep State has been here all along.
