The Flip Phones have been writing and performing music together since 2008 and their debut release, Better in the Dark, released in 2022 is nominated for three Wammies. Better in the Dark, exists in the Venn diagram intersection of indie, rock, and folk music. Imagine the melodica stylings of Gorillaz crossed with the songwriting of Neko Case and a twist of lyrical luminaries The Decemberists.
Music by The Flip Phones challenges listeners to ponder little moments and big questions, all while not taking anything too seriously. Featuring Lindsey (keyboard, vocals, flute, melodica) and Ryan (guitar, vocals), the duo is known for quirky songs, catchy melodies, and well-crafted lyrics.
