Next was a band I was somewhat unfamiliar with but that didn’t matter as AVL’s own The Shrünken Heads came to party. And that is exactly what they did with their heavily Eighties-influenced sound. Like the 80s, these guys – Don Joel Rios (lead guitar & vocals), Jason “Cowboy” Jones (lead & rhythm guitar), “Killer” Troii Harris (bass), and Van Calloway (drums) – were all about having a damn good time and rocking the hell out while doing it. Obviously a local favorite, TSH had The Odditorium crowd fired up and singing along to their songs. This was definitely one of the liveliest-on-stage bands I have seen in a long time and if you get the chance to see them, you definitely should do so. - Riff Relevant

Formed in 2015, by founding member, vocalist and lead guitarist Don Joel Rios and original member Jason Jones (guitarist) in Asheville, NC. Don Joel Rios began writing and recording the songs on the 1st Ep, Raw n Dirty. While recording, Don Joel Rios recruited guitarist, Jason Jones and searched for drummer and bass player. Once this 4-man band was formed, they worked hard on the songs to play live shows. The Shrünken Heads began playing live shows July 22, 2017, and rocked the crowd with their loud and raw performance. The Shrünken Heads had the great opportunity to play at The Orange Peel, Asheville, NC in December 2017.
The Shrünken Heads' musical influence comes from Motley Crüe and Motörhead. The Shrünken Heads continue to entertain crowds in the local rock and metal scene with no signs of slowing down.
