"Their music is positive and engaging, uplifting, and almost spiritual!"

The Stiltsville is a Miami based Indie-Beach Pop band whose music brings back the vibe of the Stiltsville Generation; an ocean party originating in the 1930s with a small collection of shack like houses built on stilts on the waters of Miami’s Biscayne Bay where boaters and locals would come to party, chill and sometimes just get away.

Comprised of Miami natives who grew up on the waters of Biscayne Bay, The Stiltsville blends styles of reggae, rock, pop and Latin music. Each band member plays a variety of instruments, including the ukulele, the accordion, cajon and others. In March The Stiltsville released its self-titled EP.

Modern rock music has evolved over the past decade into a dark and depressed atmosphere. Most songs we hear on the radio are filled with messages of despair, desolation and pain. However, when you listen to The Stiltsville’s new album, you’ll find hope rather than sorrow. This album beckons the listener to overcome mediocrity and move to a better, joyous place. From the intuitive lyrics to the catchy rhythms and rocking ukuleles, this album will find you hitting the repeat button over and over again. And very soon 5 tracks will seem like 50.

Can a little rock band from the dance music capitol change the world? If there is ever a band that is making an effort, it is The Stiltsville. The message of their music is positive and engaging, uplifting, and almost spiritual. Cross Jack Johnson with Jason Mraz and throw in some Dirty Heads and Pepper for a tiny obtuse taste of the 4 dudes from Biscayne Bay.

The Stiltsville has recorded your basic feel good album, by having great songs, infectious pop hooks, and introspective lyrics. As songwriters, they have a flair for catchy radio melody while not being afraid to challenge the human psyche. The incredible thing about this album is the intricacies within such simple yet innovative music. They have turned many ‘normal’ instrument sounds into catchy little sounds.

Stiltsville-400The self-titled album contains five 5-star songs, all of which have fantastic rhythms, awesome percussion, and of course, a lead singer with an incredibly infectious voice. “Bonaire” and “McFarlane’s Lantern” are the rockier tunes, while “Yogi” and “Mango Tree” groove the most. If you want a more cheerful, handclapping love tone, then “Oh Alexandra” would be a good choice. Every song is completely singable. And from the opening notes of “Yogi”, something inside you will say “Oh, this is going to be good,”…and it is!

The overall feel of this album is uplifting, with strong, rich melodies, and head-bouncing tunes. To sum it up, this is a very good album that will be stuck in your player. You will be singing along with The Stiltsville on your way to whatever destination, every day. Moreover this is a great album to listen to while you are hanging with friends outside in the summer time…or in the wintertime, when you wish you were hanging outside with your friends!

Don’t take my word for it. Steal a copy from your best friend and listen to it before you buy! - Jamsphere

"Bringing The Beach To You Through Music"

Musical inspiration can come from all kinds of things. One of the best inspirations though has to be finding a special place or area that just seems to speak to you. Whether it be the history of the spot or the view that creates the ideas this can be a phenomenal catalyst for musical ideas. Our recent discovery The Stiltsville lives this life to perfection.

The Miami based band plays a style of Indie Beach Pop that brings out a sound and vibe of an older generation of the Biscayne Bay. In the 1930’s the Stiltsville Generation was an ocean front party and chill spot centered around a collection of small shacks that were built on stilts to withstand the crashing waves. The happy and folky sound is far away from the glitz and glamour of the South Beach area of Miami and that is exactly where The Stiltsville wants it to be. This freedom in music has drawn in a strong following of listeners that want to relate to this laid back lifestyle.

Last month the group released The Stiltsville EP and has plans for a summer tour. The 4 track record brings this beautiful beach vibe directly to your ears. The opener “Yogi” is a peppy little number that brought bands like Spoon and Vampire Weekend to mind. The guitar melody and background harmonies fill the tone with that happy feeling. The song “Bonaire” is a more rocking track that speeds up your tapping toes a little with the focus on the well versed lyrics. The record closes with “McFarlane’s Lantern”. Another beach pop song that has influences from the fun ska punk of the late 90’s with a ukulele thrown in for good measure and to continue the beach vibe. Comprised of Miami natives who grew up on the waters of Biscayne Bay, the band draws its inspiration from the alluring lifestyle that shaped the past generation: “We believe there is another side of Miami to highlight than the glitz, DJs and fashion of South Beach."

The Stiltsville blends styles of reggae, rock, pop and Latin music.  With each band member playing a variety of instruments, the band keeps things fun, catchy and engaging by infusing instruments like the ukulele, the accordion, a cajon and others. www.thestiltsville.com
