Bio

“It’s a porch-stompin’, fiddle-sawin’, bass-spankin’ hootenanny,” says Lifestyle Frisco.  The Bodarks are “a genre-creating string band from around the Metroplex,” according to Buddy Magazine, who have “developed their own unique Americana music.” And Chuck Taylor of KHYI 95.3FM likened them to Old Crow Medicine Show and The Avett Brothers.

Formed in 2012 from remnants of hard rock, country, and R&B bands, they set aside their electric gear for traditional bluegrass instruments to create something both new and old. No sooner had they formed than they were selected as a Shiner Rising Star finalist.  Eventually they found their own style, the fruit of which are two albums full of original music and a following of diverse fans. Through the years they have side-staged for acts equally as diverse, such as Kansas, Pat Benatar, Gary P. Nunn, The Old 97s, Randy Rogers, and Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Catch a live hootenanny in North Texas at venues such as House of Blues, Lava Cantina, LSA Burger Co., and Legacy Hall.

"The Bodarks are very entertaining... It's a rockin' show!"   - Brett Dillon, KHYI 95.3FM
