"Meet Jimmy Ganzer, Joe Carrillo, Drew Barber, Richard Argumosa"

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jimmy Ganzer, Joe Carrillo, Drew Barber, and Richard Argumosa.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
The rock quartet that is The Fallen Electric started out in 2012. They would quickly find out that shaking up the scene in Southern California’s Inland Empire as a formerly three-piece alternative rock band was no easy feat. The guys would play anywhere they could. As they progressed, they would jam to guilty pleasures that would draw nostalgic children of the ‘90s to the shows while sprinkling in an increasing original musical playlist throughout their set.

The Fallen Electric has had success hitting the local scene, maintaining a loyal fan base wherever they go and spreading the enthusiasm and love of rock and roll. In 2017, the boys shook up the lineup and became a four-piece band to round out the rough edges.

Anticipation for their freshman album, Never Seen the World (2018), would be the catalyst for their exposure to new crowds. Drawing from their alternative roots and grungy influences, band members Jimmy Ganzer (Vocals/Guitar), Drew Barber (Bass/Vocals), Joe Carrillo (Guitar/Vocals), and Richard Argumosa (Drums/Percussion) aim to fuse this unprocessed energy with the new scene. In 2019 they are poised to release their newest single, “Listen”, which will be followed by other new material shortly thereafter. Their catchy hooks and honest lyrics are an open invitation for anyone to get lost down this road with them—and they’re just getting started.

Please tell us about your art.
We create rock and roll for the new generation. The music industry is always evolving and new technologies continue to push the envelope. We feel, however, that as rock artists, we cannot allow ourselves to lose the soul and honesty in the music we create. The message we bring is to have people of all walks of life come together, if not for just one moment. This inspiration for it all is our love for music, specifically rock and roll and wanting to leave our footprint in its history. We look up to the greats who have championed the genre and we work hard to carry that torch for future generations.

Given everything that is going on in the world today, do you think the role of artists has changed? How do local, national or international events and issues affect your art?
Despite what goes on in the world, we believe that the role of the artist from any place and time is to hold up a mirror to the world and say, “This is who and what you are.” Whether the final product is meant to be socially conscious, share our internal angst, and/or creating art for art’s sake, it is a reflection of who we are and our place in the world today. We are all products of our environment and the music we create definitely reflects our outlook on who we are and where we want to go.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
All of our work can be found on our website thefallenelectric.com that can lead people to our social media sites, merchandise, and music. People can support by going to a TFE show near them and catching our album “Never Seen The World” and our upcoming singles on all of their favorite music streaming platforms.

Bio

The rock quartet that is The Fallen Electric first took root in 2012 as a 3-piece band. Founding members, Jimmy Ganzer (vocals/guitar) and Drew Barber (bass/vocals) cut their teeth in the SoCal rock scene by covering their favorite ‘90s jams and incorporating an increasing original playlist throughout their set.

In late 2016, they welcomed Joe Carrillo on (vocals/guitar) to round out the sound as a 4-piece rock band to complete a DIY 12-song demo-album called Never Seen the World. In 2018 they found themselves jamming with, drummer, Richard Argumosa. Together, they crafted Listen (2019), Only You I See (2019), Circles (unreleased), and rerecorded their popular singles from their demo album, Never Seen The World (2020) and Midnight Drive (2020).

Now with Charles Weetly (drums), Jimmy, Drew, and Joe take on a post-pandemic world hungry for new music. Their love for both popular and obscure alt-rock artists of the ‘90s and ‘00s drive their efforts to fuse this familiar energy with the new scene.
