Bio

The Hope Effect is a band that prides itself on high energy live shows, pop oriented vocal melodies, and never ending guitar hooks. The South Carolina based band brings a Pop Rock sound that is deeply rooted in Pop Punk, as well as Top 40 radio, which has allowed The Hope Effect to form their own spin on rock music. The Hope Effect has most recently released their full length record, "Say Yes to Taking it Slow." The band spent more than a year and a half writing this record, using that time to develop their songwriting and create their own sound. "The album was a process of writing and rewriting songs until we were totally satisfied, trying not to waste any ideas we had," said Caleb Craigo, The Hope Effect's singer/guitarist.

The Hope Effect band started in mid-2010, with longtime friends Caleb Craigo, Joel Pinson, Justin Pinson, and Ike Parsons. The band later acquired the talents of Darious Smith in 2011 to complete the bands line up before going into a self-booked south eastern tour. In early 2012 Jason Andrews, of Spotlight Sound Studios (Akon, Go Radio, Holiday Parade), contacted the band about recording an EP, which was their first release entitled “Move”. This three song EP displayed the band’s style of a pop and rock blend, and received positive reviews from fans and local online reviewers. The Hope Effect finished out 2012 playing shows in the southeast, and in early 2013 they decided to begin writing their first, full length record, "Say Yes to Taking it Slow.” The band went back to Jason Andrews to record this album; "Jason already knew what we were wanting to do, so it just made sense," says guitarist Darious Smith.

On September 12, 2014 the band released "Say Yes to Taking it Slow,” making it available on iTunes, along with other music streaming websites. In August 2014, The Hope Effect filmed their first music video with a cameo appearance by WWE Hall of Famer Jake “The Snake” Roberts, for their single "Living in a Lie,” and released the video on October 6, 2014. The Hope Effect plans to continue the year playing shows up and down the east coast.
