"The Prelude Press"

“Reflections is everything that a good summer pop-punk EP should be; it’s catchy and memorable, with vocals and lyrics that are easy to sing along with. The final track, “Rosemount,” is a really good example of this. The chorus is very memorable and catchy, and the instrumentation is some of the strongest on the EP as it feels the most balanced and hosts some strong guitar and bass work.” - Dom Vigil

"Concert Crap"

“The sound that The New Varsity delivers can be best described as an equally portioned mix of the bands Rufio and The Story So Far. The music is fast, upbeat and paired with male vocals in the higher vocal register, but also deals with darker topics including anxiety, quarter life crises, and relationships gone sour.” - Matt Saunders

"Highwire Daze"

“The New Varsity is a dynamic pop punk band from Claremont, CA who have been gaining a good deal of fans with their wildly infectious tunes. Running Out Of Time is their second album to date, a self-released collection of rocking gems that possess a good deal of enthusiasm and mass appeal. The New Varsity recently made their way out to the Cobalt Cafe in Canoga Park for a wondrously exhilarating class in the vibrant sounds of pop punk” - Ken Morton

"I.E. Weekly"

“There was an era of punk that was born with the likes of ’90s bands like Blink 182 and Jimmy Eat World. Even if the style has changed over time, The New Varsity is bringing it back the pop-punk that you love and remember.” - Ashley Bennit

Bio

The New Varsity is an up and coming pop punk band from the suburbs of Claremont, California. Having been around the southern California music scene for about 3 years now, they are looking to make big moves behind the release of their latest EP "Reflections" recorded and produced by Johnny Liu of Home Movies (formerly Stanley and the Search).

The New Varsity mixes old school along with the new school fashions of pop punk, and have brought their high energy live show aside the likes of notable bands such as Set Your Goals, Major League, Hidden in Plain View, Seaway, Hit the Lights, and Assuming We Survive, to name a few. With the running motto of "do it LIVE!" The boys of The New Varsity are looking to break out in a big way on the music scene, so keep your eyes and ears peeled!
