Dean G - lead guitar/vocals
Tony G - vocals, percussion
Todd H - bass
Brian V - drums
Diana Rein - guitar/vocals

Triple Threat Band--fronted by 3 oustanding lead vocalists--is known for driving, guitar-fueled cover rock, their own three full-length CD's of original rock: Face the Music (1996), Without You (1998) and Into the Night (2005), and a good time stage show that'll keep you coming back. Triple Threat Band was founded as a power trio by brothers Dean and Tony G, and has grown to add the rock solid rhythm section of Todd H, and Brian V, and most recently, the lovely Diana Rein adding her amazing voice and guitar work to cover every base.

Showcasing the band's versatility with Rock and Blues styles, Triple Threat Band plays a staggering range of the 70's, 80's, 90's and today's hits including artists: Stevie Ray Vaughan, The Dave Matthews Band, Led Zeppelin, Josh Kelley, Train, Black Crowes, Bon Jovi, John Mayer, Bryan Adams, Jimi Hendrix, Elvis, Van Halen, Creed and many more! Triple Threat Band features the lead guitar/vocal wizardry of Dean G (Gurnee, IL), a 1997 Chicago's Finest Fingers Top Ten Finalist, the dynamic vocals and charisma of Tony G (Chicago, Niles, IL), the deep-groovin' bass funk of Todd H (Palatine, Elgin IL), the jaw-dropping chops of drummer Brian V (Skokie, IL), and most recently, Diana Rein (Chicago) joins bringing a triple threat of voice, guitar and charm of her own.

Dennis: When was the Triple Threat Band formed?

Todd: 1997 was the debut of Triple Threat Band. The first CD was entitled "Face the Music." I did not join until 2001, to replace founding bassist Larue Lindsay who had moved out of state.

Dennis: What was the original line-up then?

Todd: The band was originally named Vital Signs and featured Tony Granatelli on drums and Larue Lindsay on bass.

Dean: Dean on guitar/vocals Tony on Drums/vocals and LaRue Lindsay on bass.

Dennis: When did you add Diana Rein to your line-up?

Todd: Diana officially joined the band in June of 2005.

Diana: I became a part of the band at the end of June 2005. The library of songs that this band covers kept me busy for a few months before I had my first official gig with them at Lamplighters, September 26, 2005.

Dean: June 2005

Dennis: How did that come about?

Todd: It was a very fortunate bit of luck, actually. Diana had moved into town, and I believe went googling for bands that might be interested in her as a backing vocalist. She came upon triplethreatband.com, really liking the Stevie Ray Vaughan influence and the setlist, and emailed Dean. From her website song samples, we knew she had a fabulous voice and a jaw dropping look. We invited her to come see us at an acoustic show in schaumburg and sit in on some songs. She did that, and response was immediate and very positive. She bring additional breadth to the band, and the core brings a rock solid experienced backline as well as Dean's guitar wizardry that Diana enjoys as she grows with the instrument.

Diana: I had emailed Dean a few months back asking him if he needed any background vocalists since I was looking to get in the scene. After a few emails and discussing our mutual admiration for Stevie Ray Vaughan, Dean invited me to one of their acoustic shows so that I he could audition me on stage. All the stars seemed to be aligned and it was a great fit! Dean invited me to my first rehearsal with the band and that started it all!

Dennis: Was Blues a part of Triple Threats music prior to adding Diana?

Todd: Actually the band was mostly blues and blues rock when it was founded, and remained that way until around 2002 when Brian Van Mersbergen replaced Tony on drums. Brian's rock double bass chops, and strong influences from Rush, Styx, and Journey propelled our move in that direction. The rest of the band also had strong rock influences, so the transition was fairly seamless. Diana has actually brought us back to a little more of the blues rock with her love of SRV and her signature bluesy original Have I Gotten Over You.

Diana: oh yes, that was one of the biggest reasons that I looked into singing with them.

Dean: Yes, very much, the original line up was mostly blues based music.

Dennis: If not, was there any trouble mixing blues and rock?

Todd: None at all. Depending on the club you play, you simply trim the mix of rock, blues, originals and covers that you do. Bands have been marrying rock and blues for quite some time--Led Zeppelin, Cream, Stevie Ray Vaughan all walk that line.

Diana: The blues started it all and was a springboard for rock. We feel that the two mix well and compliment each other nicely.

Dean: Not at all, in my opinion, rock is a derivative of the blues, so it was a very natural progression.

Dennis: Do you have a leader of the band or is it more democratic than that?
